There are actually two, one next to the oil fill tube and one on the opposite side of the motor, basically under the drivers seat. You will need a thin walled 13/16 deep socket to get on it, the one on the front side of the motor (under the seat) can be difficult to get on as there is a pipe in line with the plug.

Generally, the John Deere Gator is not a street legal vehicle. As to whether it's permissible to operate one on secondary roads, that's a matter of local ordnance, and you need to check your state's laws on this matter. If I were you, I would contact the County Sheriff's Office with this question. Even if it's not allowed under law, it may be possible to be granted a permit for it, and they'd be the one who could tell you how to go about doing that.

First of all, weight is not a unit of measurement, . Second, not all tractors weigh the same, in units of pounds or kilograms. Lastly, a better question to ask would be "what is the weight of an average tractor?" or "How much does the (your tractor here) weigh?"

John Deere recommends that you put Low Viscosity Hy-Gard or Hy-Gard Transmission oil in their Hydro or Gear Transmissions. The Low-Vis is used for factory fill in the Hydro and Hy-Gard in the Gear Transmission.

It is usually both on the blower shroud and stamped into the valve cover.

#1 try this 1st: open the owners manuel ... it will list the plug for your motor.

#2 take a 5/8" deep well plug socket unscrew the plug going counter clockwise, look at the number and manufacturer on the plug.

#3 Know your year & model# of mower. Brand of motor (Koler, Briggs & Stratton, Kawasaki, etc) call an auto parts store.. they have cross referance manuel. They should be able to tell you exactly, and probably have in stock.

Generally there are two sources of this on an engine with a pump-style injection system:

1) The front shaft seal on the injection pump (this is if you have a fuel lubricated injection pump). This requires a pump shop to repair the pump. Injection pumps are not something you want to take apart in your garage, they have very tight tolerances and very many small moving parts that, things which are not very welcoming of dirt.

2) A bad fuel pump, if your vehicle has an engine mounted fuel pump. To fix, generally the most economical solution is to replace the pump. In some cases, the pump can be resealed. It really depends on the application.

The sheaves should just pull off. They have a bearing on the inner diameter of the sheave that mounts on a threaded stud. If the sheave doesn't just pull off, hopefully it is the smaller on and you can remove the lever arm assembly. Then put the sheave on an open vise so the sheave is on the vise and you can tap the threaded rod with a hammer. This isn't great for the bearings, but this is only a lawnmower deck.

It is a reservoir for hydraulic oil for the main hydraulic pump. Its purpose is to supply oil to the main hydraulic pump during start-up to prevent cavitation. Cavitation is caused by "vacuum" created by the main pump when it is not receiving any charge oil from the transmission pump. Without this, damage and wear will occur to the main pump due to lack of lubrication, and in time will give you weak hydraulics and then require either a complete replacement or complete overhaul of the main pump, to the tune of roughly $1000-$2000. You need to route the belts so when you pump the handle down it is the one doing the power stroke. It must wrap around the ratchet mechanism and attach with a set screw. You will have to experiment until you get the belts working together with the handle travel. Hope this helps. If you have picture of the forge I would like to see it. I must have one about like yours and I am having trouble getting the clutch working on mine.
