What was the Bay of Pigs and how did it reflect upon John F. Kennedy?

The Bay of Pigs was an invasion in 1961 authorized by JFK, it was an attempt to overthrow Castro in Cuba. The US trained Cuban exiles and rebels to lead it. In response to the Bay of Pigs, Cuba and Russia became even closer. Russia secretly shipped missiles to Cuba that were then targeted at the U.S. for the protection from future invasions. It reflected badly upon JFK because the U.S. didn't back up the Cuban exiles when the plan failed and they were quickly taken out by Castro's forces. It showed poor judgment skills and poor leadership. Although, it was his fault, he was highly influenced by the military leaders at the time. Their names i can't remember

Some monkeys in Africa had a disease (SIV) like AIDS.

It was passed to humans when they killed and ate the monkeys for food.

How many times did US President John F. Kennedy invoke executive privilege?

US President John F. Kennedy, invoked presidential or executive privilege only once during his tenure of the presidency. That was in February of 1962. At that time a US Senate committee, wanted to know the names of Secretary McNamara's subordinates that were deleting Defense Department reports and also removing " war like" passages from US generals and admirals. Kennedy relied that the names were not required and that Secretary McNamara took full responsibility for any deletions, and in so many words meant " it won't happen again".Later Senator Stennis, agreed with Kennedy, however, Stennis did not concede any ground on future requests from Congress.

Basically, Stennis saw no need to have the names of the subordinates since the executive branch apologized. It became clear by his action, that the concession in no way precluded future requests that Congress might have concerning other issues.

How did president Kennedy die?

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was riding in an open top limousine in a Dallas, TX, motorcade on November 22, 1963. Inside the limousine was John and Nellie Connally in the front seat and John and Jacqueline Kennedy in the back seat. When he entered Dealey Plaza three shots rang out. The second shot striking the scenery and the first shot striking him in the neck. The first shot (by Lee Harvey Oswalt) went through President Kennedy and struck Governor John Connally in the lower back, through his hand and into his thigh. The third shot struck President Kennedy in the brain and half of his face blew off. Jackie tried to jump out the back of the limo to retrieve the face but was stopped by secret service. He was then rushed to Parkland Hospital where he stayed alive for hours and then was pronounced dead.

What did JFK have to do with the Cold War?

In October 1962, he was involved in the Cuban missile crisis and it was 13 days of massive tension that could have caused nuclear war as Russia and the USA had these weapons and he set up ex-comm to give him ideas of what to do after Khrushchev in the USSR placed missiles on Cuba after building a relationship with communist Fidel Castro after the Bay of Pigs in 1961 as Kennedy looked inexperienced, young and weak after he armed Cuban exiles (1500) and Castro was ready with the army who supported him. Khrushchev took advantage of this, especially as Cuba was 90 miles off the coast of Florida, so it was a threat as communism was closer than ever. After the ideas from ex-comm, Kennedy chose a naval blockade over Cuba and when soviet ships were to come into to any sort of distance with it, they would turn back, despite what Khrushchev said. Eventually they both agreed to end it and Khrushchev dismantled the missiles on Cuba and Kennedy took the ones off of Turkey. They both saw how close this was to turning into a full fledged war, so they set up a hotline between the kremlin and the White House so they has better communications and they also had a nuclear test ban treaty so no-one could detonate bombs as a test any more. He was loved by many people and a president who wanted to do something about all the terrible things in America and cared for people, but in November 22nd 1963, he was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald.
