Lent is celebrated to show our penance to God for all the sins we have committed. In lent, you fast, abstain, share, give, pray, and it is supposed to be a time of peace, meditation, and reflection. Every Lent, you are supposed to give up something that you most enjoy. Or you can start doing more things as a daily routine. For example, I am giving up swearing and junk food.

This great command is what the Disciples of Christ are commissioned to do and it is a sign of a true follower of Jesus Christ. In the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) it is told that the disciples were asking who was the greatest among them and Jesus Christ indicated that because they are called to serve they would be considered the least. Therefore, Jesus Christ washed the feet of his disciples so as to set an example of servitude and to teach them the true meaning of humility.

You can't eat meat on Good Friday, but you only eat fish instead. But some say This is the kind of nonsense that makes Protestants laugh at Catholics. The Bible CLEARLY says that we are free to fast or not fast, eat meat or not eat meat, as we please. IT CLEARLY says that these kinds of "religious practices" are worthless and that God sees "good works" as nothing but "filthy rags."

Follow Jesus. Give Him your heart. That's all that counts. These kinds of questions reflect the kind of dead useless "religiosity" that Jesus came to ABOLISH!

The Good Friday Agreement (reached in 1998) was meant to improve relations between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The Good Friday agreement is working because both sides in the conflict have realized that they must work together, for their own future and that of generations to come. There is no future from guns or bombs, only pain and suffering. However, there is much more to be done, or the flame of hope could yet fail. As I write, there is still Hate on the streets in Northern Ireland, Churches have been damaged, Orange lodges have been burnt to the ground, or wrecked. Those who will be marching on Monday next, (13th this year, because the 12th is on a Sunday) must respect the other side who fear these marches, and the Nationalists must respect the Unionist tradition. The Good Friday agreement was voted on by all the people of Ireland, the first time since the 1918 general election when the majority voted for independence. Both sides in Ireland ( the whole island) are drawing closer together, and working together. The UK government needs to support this, and all governments in the Celtic Isles, Britain and Ireland must work together for all the people of these islands. The Belfast agreement is not an end, it is just a beginning, and needs the Prayers and Support of all of us.

youd probably be starving .. but wont die .. but you probably would actually most definitly be under weight -- Eating only one meal a day is very bad for your body and no, you wouldn't just be underweight, some people actually become overweight because of it. You body goes into starvation mode, it will retain all of the fat for later... see it knows it won't be fed again for a long time so it stores as much as it can for later. You should eat mini-meals several times a day. This is hard the first two weeks or so but it gets easier and your metabolism will start to kick in and the pounds will start to drop off. The key is eating healthy meals!
