How do you start a Lincoln LS when you can't get to the Battery?

The battery is located in the trunk under the spare tire cover. If you are physically unable to reach the battery in the car I suggest you look into a cigarette adapter car jumper kit this would be an easier alternative method.

How set timing chain on 00 Lincoln ls?

if engine is out of time you must use special tools to aling. 1st tool is to time engine to top dead center no. 1 cyc. you remove your crank sensor and install tool into flywheel when crank is in proper location. second is a bar which you place onto camshafts on the flat spots in front of cam and is bolted down into holes where the valve cover bolts go. the tools p/n are 303-530 and 303-645. these tools are cheaper when purchased for a jaguar and use the same part numbers there are aftermarket suppliers

If you look at Alldata-it says the 303-645 tool actually locks the crank at 45 degrees ATDC, meaning the keyway on the crank is at 6 o'clock. It will only fit in ONE spot on the ignition pulse wheel. It goes in the position of the crankshaft position sensor. All of the "flats" on the camshafts should also be lined up!

Your 1997 Ford Ranger 3oL blows continuous hot air from the heaterdefroster even with the temp control on cold Is this a heater control valve problem or possible a vacuum problem with one of the doors?

"in order to blow cold air your car needs freon to work, you may have a leak in your AC system. Have it checked for leaks and recharge it with freon." And if your truck has freon.................. The hot-cold door control motor is bad. It has the vent stuck wide open until you shut the HVAC system off. This motor controls the degree of which the vent opens to allow hot air to pass through. (Good luck on finding a dealer that can get you one though and a mechanic that can install it.) It is behind the dashboard at the firewall and the dash has to be removed to replace this motor. i also had this problem, and then relized that one of my passengers had somehow disconnected with the foot one of the plugs that controls the blowers. It's right under the dash on the passenger side, trying checking that before running to the dealer.

A strange yellow light appeared on my 2001 Lincoln ls on the right side of dash. Where can I find the listing of what they mean?

Can you put 22' rims on a Lincoln LS?

yes you can the rim has to be the 5 lug bolt pattern which is like 5x108 i think, and the tire has to be a 235/30/22 or 245/30/22 . I think a 255/30/22 which is a more popular tire would be a little to much but not sure

How can you check the Transmission level on 2001 Lincoln LS?

if you have a 3.0 motor, then you have a 5r55s transmission. the atf fill plug is located on the extension housing of the transmission on the passenger side just above the cross member, it is a metric Allen head bolt . the fill level can be checked when atf is warm, idling, remove the small torex head bolt from the center of the larger bolt, on the bottom of the transmission pan, add atf through the bolt on the extension housing until, atf comes out the torex head bolt inside the larger bolt on the bottom of the pan.

caution do not remove the "large" bolt itself from the bottom of the pan, or you will drain the trans of atf.

Is there a coolant reservoir for the fan in a Lincoln ls v6 2000 model?

there is hydraulic fluid reservoir for the fan... it's driven by hydraulic pump...

and there is coolant reservoir...

How do you check the transmission fluid level on a 2000 Lincoln LS?

I had the same question I asked them to check it where I get my oil changed, they told me they couldn't and it was sealed in order to check it I would have to take it to the dealership so I went and they told me the fluid doesn't have to be checked just once every 150,000 miles....thats what it said on the chart in the dealership at least...I have 170,000 miles on mine now so I had my transmission flushed but it wasn't needed.

Where is the thermostat on a 2001 Lincoln LS?

If you have a V8 you must first take the cover off of the motor. Then with a 5/16 socket take the entire ac tubing off starting from the intake on the upper left hand corner of the motor. Then right up under the container labeled torque remove the screws with the 5/16 socket and a 3/4 extension be careful not to stripp the screws. If water start to drain a little that's okay. You should hear a little air escape due to the pressure coming off of the thermostat. goodluck

What does ls mean in cars?

((LS = Luxury Sport) Usually determines the type of model of car.Such as the "GT" in Ford Mustang GT - it's a sportier version of the Mustang, or the "SS" in Chevy Camaro SS - its the super sport version of the Camaro, or "LT" in Ford Windstar LT - it's the Luxury Touring version of the Windstar. This denimonation in the model name is used to describe the type of extra packages included in the vehicle rather than advertising it as the "stripped down" model. The Lincols LS, however uses the Denomination as the name of their vehicle also in sort of "no bull" approach to selling their car. In other words, the name says it all.

Where is heater control valve for the 2005 Lincoln ls?

The heater control valve is immediately left of the radiator. Looking down into the engine compartment, you will see a part that has 3 hoses running into it with two grey cylinders on the top. That's the heater control valve.

At first it looks like it may be tough to reach, but I had mine replaced in under an hour. The worst part, by far, is releasing the hose clamps.
