Why is the air suspension lower in the back on a Lincoln Navigator?

Im having the same prob with a customers 01 Nav. There are solenoids that let the air in and out of the bags and from the compressor into the rear line. there is also a ride control switch in the rear that turns on the compressor and solenoids. If any of these are not working properly it can cause this problem. The ride switch appears to be adjustable for height also. First time working on one so I hope this will help.

Your 2001 Lincoln navigator will not turn over it is flashing theift what can the problem be?

I dont know what causes this, but my '98 Navi was doing the same thing. All I did was turn the ignition over, but not all the way (dont start the truck). Hold it in that position for about 5-10 seconds and then turn it over completely. The theft light will stop blinking and you should be able to start the vehicle.

How do you remove the dash from a 1998 Lincoln Navigator to replace the heater core?

You do not have to remove the dash. You do however have to remove enough of the ductwork to allow access to the heater core. This is almost never an easy job and as I have not replaced one on a Navigator, I cannot tell you exactly what to remove. Just remove what is necessary to get to the core. This is why the Pros charge so much to replace a heater core. Just remember exactly how the parts cam off and how they go back on. Good Luck.

Why the wipers won't work on a Lincoln Navigator?

Just like any thing else, the result of your windshield wipers not working could be attributed to a number of things. The main two things I can think of is either your windshield wiper motor or your wiper transmission (yes, there is a transmission for your windshield wipers). Also, I'm not sure but there could possibly be a bad connection someplace...buts that's just a guess.

The above said, start with checking the fuse.

Are air compressors and gas compressors same?

They are different. Many people think that an Ingersoll Rand 05H25NG series and the newer 20H40NG series are identical to the 15T4 air compressor from which it was derived. However, there are many major differences that have been engineered into the CNG compressors that make it quite different. Some of these differences include:

  • Reduce lift valves with inconel springs
  • Hydrostatically tested castings
  • Forged steel 1st - 2nd - 3rd stage connecting rods
  • Unique connecting rod bushings
  • Explosion proof LOLS
  • Locking crankpin bushing design
  • Special gaskets
  • Special oil seals
  • Unique pressure gauge and pressure relief valve configuration
  • Oversized stainless steel interstage and control tubing
  • Unique interstage traps suitable for electrical solenoid controlled dumping
  • 24 hour test on natural gas
