If you have a Mac version of Word then make sure the computer specs meet the software requirments. Then go into Disk Utility and "Repair Permissions" and see if that helps. If not then go to the Microsoft Word for Mac, support site and look in their forums for any similar problems.

Yeah, it sounds like a problem with the disk drive. If you live near an Apple Store, go to their web site and make an appointment at the Genius Bar for them to evaluate (no charge).

The ZR80 uses a MiniDV tape which should be recognised by Final Cut Express (in the Capture window). You need to connect the camera to the computer with a FireWire 400 cable. If the computer only has a FireWire 800 socket you need an adapter to convert the 800 to a 400 socket.

PC's have more software options, cost less, and they can be easily repaired without the need of sending a PC to the company to be fixed. Windows has more customization options as well, mainly because the registry is open to be modified. Windows is also the more dominant of PC operating systems which helps in it's popularity. Myself, as a user of both PCs and Macs, Although Macs are decent, I still prefer Windows.

Well technically speaking, unless you own a Mac of some sort then you are not legally able to put OS X on your desktop. If you are looking for an alternative to Windows, as your post would imply, I would recommend checking out several Linux Distros to see what you like. There are quite a few and most are pretty decent. Check out www.distrowatch.com for some reviews. Personally, I like Ubuntu and it's variants. I also was a big fan of Linux Mint. If you are looking for something similar to OS X then G OS may be a good choice. Good luck.

This is not a complete answer but maybe it will help some of you. I went to the Microsoft site and downloaded the latest update for this keyboard and it is compatible with Mac Os 10.2x-10.4x excluding (10.0-10.1). So it doesn't say 10.5 is supported however I installed Leopard and the update to 10.5.1 and it works, sort of. Most of the time it works fine however sometimes my keys don't respond this has happened in Entourage, Word 2004 and a couple of other programs. Usually just switching from one application to another and back will fix the problem or restarting the program at worst. So there you have it the keyboard works 99% of the time.

You cannot without erasing your hard drive and installing Mac OS 9 from scratch. Even then Mac OS 9 may not run on modern Mac hardware because Mac OS 9 needs the ROM chip to boot. Modern Mac OS X hardware uses EFI to boot the system instead of a ROM chip to boot. Mac OS X v10.0 - Mac OS X v10.4 support Mac OS 9 applications and can run them, you just need to install the Mac OS 9 compatibility program which can be found on the Mac OS X Install CD.

As far as I know, there is no native OS X model for XBox of any version. However, there maybe work arounds to making PC modders work on in OS X. Besides the commercial products that run Windows on OS X or making a Mac boot into Windows, both of course cost money, there is piece of software called 'Wine.' There are many off shoots of 'Wine' and from what I understand, 'Wine' can be "wrapped" around a Windows program and have it run in OS X. Of course, someone has to make this 'wrapped' application, in this case a very specific mod app. This may be difficult to find but may exist if there is enough demand for it.

In my guestimation, I don't think something like it would exist due to the Apple-Microsoft cold wars of years past. I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer.

Select the "Allow user to administer this computer" checkbox.

Start up from the Installation Disk. This should allow you to alter your user profiles. Another Question from The Question Writer: I have no admins, it will not allow me to change them to admin, all accounts are on standard. They do not change. Even with the OS X Installation disk.
