I was actually looking into this myself and this is what I've gathered. Fire is basically the releasing of molecules such as carbon which then combine with oxygen to form a complete pair. This process releases energy , which "excites nearby electrons" which then give of electro magnetic energy to which the light waves are channeled through the eye to hit the retina which give us the image of light. Then, pop that out and carefully unplug the wiring harness for it. Next, (in order to get your hand in there) you have to remove 3 screws from the key cylinder to move that out of the way. Once you've done all this, you can reach your hand up behind it and just gently pull it out. I'm doing this all from memory, but it should be more than enough to get you there.
