Japan owns the Mazda company. Mazda parts are however, not all made in Japan. Ford used to own Mazda, but recently dropped them. They provided certain engines and parts for Mazda. Presently, most parts for Mazdas are made in Japan, but like a lot of other Japanese car companies, some parts are manufactured or assembled in America or Canada.

Open the hood. Locate the plug+wire end that is attached to the bulb. The plug is probably white in color. There is a tab which you need to depress to pull off the plug+wire from the end of the bulb. Use a flat screwdriver to depress the tab. Don't use muscle for this, just finesse otherwise you will skin your knuckles! The bulb comes out by twisting it counter-clockwise. The lamp+socket is "L" shaped. Insert a new lamp and twist it clockwise to lock it in place. Reattach the plug+wire into the end of the socket and listen for the tab to click shut. That is it! Go to a dealer and you will be charged $40.00 to replace the low-beam lamp. The procedure to replace the high beam lamp is also the same. Good luck.

You should be able to see a hose from the throttle body to the rocker cover. The hose may be big enough to completely cover the PCV valve so you might not be able to see it. Pull the hose out of the rubber grommet in the rocker cover. You should be able to see the PCV valve once you pull it from the rocker cover.

No, a 2006 Mazda 6 does not have a voltage regulator mounted to the alternator. This is a part that one can replace on its own with the proper tools and instructions.

This shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes and you only need one tool:

Do this with the engine COLD, or you risk serious burns form the EGR assembly nearby! Grab a 10 mm standard socket (not deepwell). If that wont work, take a decent size pliers and carefully grab the square shoulders of the PVC and twist gently back and forth, then continue to turn counterclockwise 1/2 rotation. A squirt of wd40 before starting also helped loosen it. Loosen the driver's side bolt on the bracket that is on the firewall above the manifold. Attack it from the right and you will have ample clearance.

Slap an extension on there and remove the left bolt. Tuck the bracket out of the way to the right.

With some tongue and groove pliers, grab the snap ring on the PCV hose on the manifold. Squeeze it and rotate it back and forth until it loosens up, then slide it toward the firewall.

Grab the hose below the plastic elbow with your hand. Twist it back and forth while pulling up on it. It will come off pretty easily once it gets moving.

You will see the PCV valve. Grab a 15/16" deep well socket. Shove it down onto the old PCV valve until it engages the square flange. Twist it counterclockwise and the PCV valve will pop off (and should stick in the socket). Be careful not to let any crap fall into the valve cover (hopefully you washed it and let it dry first).

Shove the new PCV valve into the socket. Guide it down into the hole in the valve cover. Twist it clockwise until it fits snugly. You can remove the socket and examine your progress, if you wish, since it is easy to stick the socket back on there if it needs a bit more of a twist. But you shouldn't have to. (it's probably a 180 degree twist, maybe less.)

Reverse the remainder of the procedure for re installation

You're all done. Most Mazda modding gurus recommend changing the PVC every 5,000 mile oil change as this engine has problems using oil because of bad PVC design. The replacement valve is listed at AutoZone as "1001". Its only 6 dollars and could save your engine.

Usually a quick adjustment of the latch mounting bolts does the trick, or if it is just sticky, WD40 is good stuff. Also, make sure the release cable is retracting.

Call the nearest Mazda dealership first!! My sons had to be replaced and we took it to an independent auto shop...he had to call the dealership!! He told us he looked at it and thought the only way to get to it was taking off the front bumper so he called the dealership because he thought "this can't be right!"...yep he called and they told him that was what you had to do!! Turned out to be a very expensive light bulb for us to have changed!!

4.5 QUARTS-2.3L DOHC 4 CYLINDER -- Check your owner's manual for your model. My 2003 6 cyl. takes 5.5 quarts according to the manual. I put in 6.

oem is 75.6mm 14 flutes but 76mm wrench also fit it.

check your fuses or it could be the break switch which is at the bottom of the break pedal.
