Replace 2009 Mazda 6 low beam headlight bulb?
You have to go thru the fender well under the plastic. Best thing to do is remove the tire, loosen the Philips head plastic hold downs and pull them out. Pull down the plastic and you will see a gray cap. Turn it counter clockwise and remove. Unhook the metal clip and loosen the screw holding it down, do not need to remove screw, remove clip and you can remove bulb. I wore latex gloves when handling replacement bulb.
How do you replace a low beam headlight on a 2005 Mazda 6?
First turn the wheel of the side you want to replace into the the wheel arch. Open the bonnet to give you light. Remove the screws from the wheel arch liner. this gives you access to the front dipped headlight. Turn the acess cover which is about the size of a jamjar lid and remove. Unclip the spring holding the bulb and pull towards you. You can now unplug the bulb from its holder. The bulb metal body is shaped and will only fit in its correct position. Replace in reverse order, remembering to replace the acess cover.
Is a 4cylinder better then 6 cylinder?
No, if you think about it a v6 has power than a four cylinder, but the four cylinder gets better gas mileage, it all depends on what you want if you live in a hilly areas get a v6 because the four cylinder would start to struggle when going up hill and the v6 is better when passing usually the v6 models get better tires and suspension.
Why is your Mazda 6 2006 burning so much oil?
Worn piston rings or valve guides. you can do a compression test to see how many cylinders effected, but if high mileage it might be time for a rebuild. Some do just the heads if that's the problem, but even so it's best to do all as the rings will not be far behind anyway.

Where is the pcv hose in a Mazda 6?
it is located underneath the inlet manifold
It actually depends on whether you are talking about Mazda 6i (4 cylinder engine) or 6s (6 cylinder). I own 6i and it is located under the intake manifold and you can't reach unless you remove the manifold first. For 6s the PCV hose is behind the engine close to the firewall.
Correction: You can change the pcv hose on a 2.3L without removing the manifold. You can get to it from underneath and it connects at bottom back of manifold and at the top. Look through the space on right of manifold in front top and you will see it. You''ll need lighting and flashlight possibly to see it as it is in a hard to get place. The ends of the hose are offset 90 degrees. Unbolt the starter and move out of your way. I also took off the throttle body and hose, the two shuttle valves also. Then you can stand in front and reach underneath to attach the top part of the hose on the nipple. The nipple is made out of nylon so don't break it, after its on work your clamp into place. I had to take the insulating cover off and clamp the top first then put the cover back on. You''ll have to lay underneath to clamp the bottom connection. I jacked the front side up and used a stand as added safety. Just jack it enough to get under. The top connection is a hassle and you may need to pry it with a large screwdriver just don't break the nipple. Lube the hose and nipple first. The old hose had a 2 inch slit/crack in it. It caused the car to idle rough/stall and shift hard from 1st to 2nd. After replacing hose the car runs great. It has 80k on it. Bad engineering to replace a $15 hose that is so critical to the emission system. This job is for shadetree mechanics that like to do this stuff and have some knowledge of auto mechanics etc.

How do you replace the driver side headlight low beam bulb on a 2003 Mazda 6?
You will need:
a) A new bulb, obviously.
b) A small torch, even in daylight.
c) A latex or PVC glove, which are sold in packs of 50 or so at your local DIY shop. This will prevent your fingers coming into contact with the bulb glass, and will protect your hand from the oil/grease/etc inside the engine compartment.
Here's the procedure:
1) There's a black plastic cap protecting the low beam bulb compartment. Twist it anti-clockwise (COUNTER CLOCKWIRE IN AMERICA) by less than 1cm and remove it. IT IS "KEYED" AND HAS A "Y" IMPRINTED ON IT'S BACK, THE KEY SLOTS ARE JUST SLIGHTLY OFF CENTER WHEN THE COVER IS IN THE OPEN POSITION & STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN WHEN LOCKED
2) With the torch, look inside the the bulb compartment to get an idea of where everything is. This is important because you won't see much with your hand inside.
3) The bulb is held in place by a spring clip. THE CLIP RELEASE IS JUST UNDER THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BULB REAR ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TERMINAL (BLACK PLUG ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR ATTACHED TO BACK OF BULB), REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION AND YOU WILL SEE THE CLIP HAS A "D" SHAPED HANDLE WHICH IS HOOKED TO THE LIGHT HOUSING, PUSH THE CLIP "D" FORWARD (TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE CAR) AND TO THE LEFT TO UNHOOK THE SPRING CLIP (SAME BOTH PASSENGER & DRIVER SIDE) This disengages it. Then swing it up, out of the way.
4) The bulb is connected to a socket (BLACK PLUG AS NOTED ABOVE) at the end of a wire. Gently pull them out of the bulb compartment.
5) With the bulb and socket now outside the bulb compartment, pull the bulb out of the socket AMERICAN HEADLIGHT BULB IS A ONE PIECE ITEM (NO SOCKET)
6) Reverse this process to install the new bulb. NOTING THE FLAT SIDE OF THE NEW BULB BASE FITS INTO THE HOUSING ONLY ONE WAY, FLAT SIDE DOWN POINTING TO THE RIGHT, AS VIEWED FROM LEANING OVER THE CAR FROM THE FRONT (LEANING FORWARD LOOKING BACK INTO YOUR LAP) THERE IS A METAL PIECE STICKING UP TO PREVENT THE BULB FROM BEING SEATED IN ANY WAY EXCEPT THE PROPER WAY.
IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO LOOSEN OR REMOVE SOME ITEMS BLOCKING THE ACCESS TO THE REAR OF THE LIGHT FIXTURE, SUCH AS THE ANTIFREEZE RESERVOIR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, OR THE FUSE BOX COVER AND AIR FILTER COVER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, IN ORDER TO SEE PROPERLY OR GET BIG HANDS INTO SMALL SPOTS, AND REASSEMBLY WILL BE MUCH EASIER IF YOU HAVE MINI SIZED HANDS OR WIFE/GIRL FRIEND TO HELP.
When finished test the lights. Note that the new bulb will not illuminate until it is clipped back into the bulb compartment again. BECAUSE THE BASE OF THE BULB IS THE GROUND SIDE OF THE BULB CIRCUIT
THIS ENTIRE PROCEDURE IS EASILY DONE WITH EXPERIENCE & ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT KNOWING HOW THE LIGHT IS ASSEMBLED, THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS ARE VERY POOR ACCESS, POOR VISIBILITY IN IDENTIFYING THE "D" SIDE OF THE CLIP, AND GETTING BIG HANDS INTO SMALL SPOTS, GOOD LUCK AND REMEMBER THE "D" YOU WILL RUIN EVERY THING IF YOU DONT UNHOOK IT PROPERLY. How do you diagnose trouble code 2187 on a 2003 Mazda6?
I have found numerous reasons that this Code P2187 could trigger the CEL. Your car probably has a rough idle to stall right? First do the cheapest fix first.
1. clean out your MAF sensor
2.Check for leaks in the Vaccum hoses around the throttle body and Air filter housing. and the intake manifold with carb cleaner. While doing this if your idle goes to normal you have found the leak.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable to reset the code.
4.Check your purge valve.
5.Check the wiring for cracks in the connector to the MAF sensor.
6. If all of these things dont help you diagnose the problem DO NOT BUY AUTO PARTS UNLESS YOU ARE SURE THEY WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. Trust me I know. I am dealing with this right now. After work I will try to locate a vaccum leak. This is the last step that I have not checked.
Dealer or body shop. Have you tried getting in the trunk with a flashlight and having someone pour water on the rear of the car.
