Improving gas mileage 02 Mazda tribute?
It's not easy, but it is achievable with cost, though it won't be a milestone in mileage.
You can change the gear ratios to ones from the Ford Escape since they are lower, and give the car more hp so it doesn't downshift too much trying to get up hills.
The tribute system is a system in which defeated people were forced to pay a tax in the form of goods and labor. This forced transfer of food, cloth, and other goods subsidized and development of large cities. An important component of the Aztec and Inca economies.
[ found it in my history book:)]
I went to another auto mechanic who asked "Is it the ABS kicking in?" I told him I didn't think it was because I thought it didn't sound/feel like the ABS but after a while I thought it could be. The question was how do I test it to make sure it is the ABS? I decided to remove the fuse for the ABS from the fuse panel to see what would happen. The problem disappeared for two months. I put the fuse back in and the problem started happening again right away. I think the wheel speed sensors for the ABS system might be broken. I will take the car to the same mechanic who suggested the problem might be the ABS and see if he can fix the problem. I'm soooo glad this problem is solved. However, now I have to pay to get it fixed. :-(
What type of antifreeze in a 2004 Mazda Tribute?
Mazda says to use their "Mazda Premium Gold", which they charge $18.00 a gal.
The Ford Escape which is built at the same plant as the Mazda and Ford says to use their "Motorcraft Premium Gold" which is the same as that of Mazda and it cost$12.00 a gal.
I use personally use Peak brand that mixes (blends) with all antifreeze, it does the job with no problems and cost between $8 - $10 a gal.
Pretty sure you mean "E.G.R. Valve" and not ERG. E.G.R stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve.
Instead of letting all of the gas out of the exhaust of the vehicle after the mixture is burnt in the compression cylinder, some of it is recirculated into the intake manifold.
This is done because not all of the vaporized gas is burnt out of the mixture that goes into the compression cylinder.
So this recycles some of the unburnt mixture, and reduces the amount of pollution emitted by your vehicle.
Where is the keyless door code hidden in a 2008 mariner?
Pry up the chrome ring around the shifter.
Lift up the console lid and pull out the black container.
Pull up the center console from the cup holder end, it is held down with snap in clips.
Now, on the drivers side, on a black box in front of the shifter, the code is on the top-right corner of a white sticker upside down.

2003 Mazda tribute high pitch noise coming from fuel tank area?
The noise is coming from the fuel pump , Mine got louder until I got fed up of it so changed it for a new one not cheap but worth it for some peace and quiet. It might of kept going for longer but it was about to fail so instead of getting stuck somewhere It was changed. The pump was causing a few problems hard to start and a bit hesitant as its electric the bearings were causing the noise and you can't lubricate it. Shame there not cheaper to buy??
The Mazda Tribute has been production since model year 2007. The exact fuel filter will vary by year. The OEM fuel filter for the 2011 Mazda Tribute with the 3.0L V6 is Ford Motorcraft #FG872.
How do you change a heater core on a 2003 Mazda tribute?
The heater on the 03 Mazda Tribute is going in and out. What is the problem and how can it be fix?
The check engine light comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle.
Generally, a check engine light is lit when there is a problem in the emissions or somthing that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions.
Most Likely -
The Millenias and their Commonwealth cousins the "Xedos" all suffered a common defect resulting in MOST CEL issues. This engine configuration typically results in the need for replacement of 1 to 2 O2 sensors and / or the DREADED Knock Sensor embedded deep in the Manifold assembly. Mine ran 3 years with this CEL on due to the cost of labour to replace. The sensor was only 165 bucks while the labour to install was nearly 800.
I will admit once it was replaced I was not only legal again for the Emmissions test, but the thing ran better than it ever did PLUS I got nearly 2 points to my highway Mileage.
Now the codes are confusing on this because two of the O2 sensors share the same circuit and the code wont necessarily identify WHICH o2 is actually bad, that unfortunately is hit or miss. The KNOCK sensor code is separate and distinct however but all of this results in a costly set of repairs.
Good Luck
the belt is simple to change you actually have two one is the powersteering belt and the other is ac belt. you need to first lower the top pulley closest to the front of the engine remove the belt of the three pulleys then lower the alternator using the tension screw and remove the pulley to install just follow in reverse

When the vehicle is not running it will not stay in 4x4. The new vehicles of today are not put in four wheel drive by pulling a lever, they are placed in four wheel drive by pushing a button. When pushing that button it engages the small motor in your transfer case telling it to apply pressure either by air or hydrolics. When the vehicle is in the off position it is not telling the transfer case to hold in the four wheel drive position. If the vehicle is stuck in four wheel drive when it is running you need to find out if it is all wheels drive all the time or it is only 2 wheel drive until you place it in either 4hi or 4lo.

Where is the PCV valve located on a 2001 Mazda trbute?
on the v6 engine. look at the throttle body, below that you see the fuel line, and blow that you see where the fat radiator hose goes into the motor, its behind that! after you pull the rubber tube out, I used a deep socket to twist it out. test fit the socket with your replacement valve. not exactly the right shape, but works.
