The problem is with the fuel pump control. When your turn the key on power is applied to the fuel pump for about 1.5 seconds, and the pump continues to run during cranking. After cranking the operation of the fuel pump is controlled by Engine System Control Unit (MAS). The MAS receives RPM info from the ignition control module to determine how to control the fuel pump. You did not mention the kind of car. Check the fuses and relay to be sure you have power. Also you have a blower motor resistor and the fan motor. Grounds are just as important as the power source.

In all cases, this is the first steps: - Loosen the adjustment for the fan belt and remove it - Locate the bolt located on the fan pulley - Grip the pulley with a belt or something so that it does not rotate freely. At 148k miles give the car a good 20-30 minute test drive. Make sure the car is cold when you start. Pay attention to chassis vibrations , possible motor/trans mounts. Make sure transmission shifting is smooth and engine has power. Listen for clunks or knocking noises over bumps , possible suspension issues . Under the hood look for signs of fluid leaks , like at valve covers or power steering pump. Check all lights , wipers , horn and all windows and sunroof. Check heating and cooling of climate control. Make sure instrument cluster works . Basically a 2000 e320 is a very solid well made car. Ask to see any service repair papers or proof the car has been serviced regularly .

There is no distributor on your engine. It simply uses coils that fire when the m.e. ( motor electronics computer) tells it to from cam and crank sensors .

There are two instrument cluster removeal hooks that slide in at either side of the cluster. You insert them to the marked line on the tools & turn them 90 degrees & pull the cluster out toward the steering wheel. The tools are available at your MB dealer for a very reasonable price or you can find them on Ebay but I found them at the dealer for much less.

You can change the clock time, on your 2006 Mercedes-Benz E3 50, by holding in the volume button. With the volume button is held in. Use the tuning knob to adjust the clock to the appropriate time.

You have to buy the complete lower switch assembly, because the mirror switch is not availble seperatly. Remove the shifter knob by twisting the lower portion loose. Then pull straight up to remove the knob. Next just pull up on the front of the wood trim holding in the switches, this will release the wood trim assembly. The switch group is held onto the wood trim with 3 slide connections. Just slide these back and remove switch group.
