There is no fuel door release unless you're referring to the latch for the central locking system.
When you lock the car, the central locking system automatically locks the fuel door (and the doors and trunk lid).
Otherwise, you should be able to push the door open easily.
To access the servo for the fuel door, open the trunk and remove the inside, right panel. You'll be able to see the vacuum lines and the servo. You can check if this unit is work by having someone lock and unlock the car...you can see the servo's arm moving back and forth....and the sliding pin that locks the fuel door. If it's stuck, check the servo...it could be broken. You can manually slide the pin back and open the door. Use a vacuum tester to check for leaks.
With a car this old, you should also check the vacuum lines, rubber connectors, and the ballast tank under the right front fender. This system should be able to hold plenty of vacuum providing there's no leaks.

The rod on which the sun visor is mounted has an internal tab that must be aligned with a slot in order to withdraw it. Kind of hard to find the alignment but for starters:
Loosen the screw at on the sun visor face near the ball end of the rod. Orient the visor in the down position to approximately match the angle of the ball end of the rod. Wiggle and pull along the rod until the tab and slot find themselves and the visor starts to move along the rod. You will be able to withdraw it enough to slip the new clip on then push it back in place.

And, this car became a headache to most of its owners...this is basically a race car with a license plate, and a high maintenance car. McLaren made this car for MB, and MB is not one company that lets someone else control their products...which is probably why MB bought AMG a while back.
Essentially, the SLR is not going to be known as a must have for collectors...just like the Bugatti Veyron...they're not very good cars in the long run...but they do look good.

There are plenty of reasons why, so you should check to see if there is/are:
1. enough water/coolant in the system.
2. leaks....hoses, radiator, seals at the thermostat and water pump.
3. working thermostat
4. working temp sending unit.
5. fluid on the interior foot areas
6. good heater core
7. head gasket leakage
Now, is this overheating constant?
Is the overheating only when you're at an idle?
You would need to check the fan clutch...these go bad all the time and cause overheating.
You would need to check the electric fan.
Have you checked the radiator for leaks or clogs? If you have the original factory radiator still in the car, chances are it's clogged up

Reach up and press the instrument cluster out a few inches, it is not held by screws just pressure. Remove the one nut holding a long bolt through the ignition lock. Turn the key to position one. Remove the long bolt by pushing upwards with a long nail or other bolt. Remove the trim piece around the key area by unscrewing it. Remove the ignition lock from under the dash. Disconnect the ignition switch.
