A 1988 Ford LTD Crown Victoria, which is basically the same car, do not have a fuse in the fuse block under the steering column. There should be a relay on the front left fender. There will be three of them there. (Little black boxes) behind the washer solvent box. I can't remember which one it is, but one of them is your fuel pump relay. The EEC computer might be in the same relay??

In a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis :

Fuse ( # 25 ) is a blue color 15 amp fuse for the cigarette lighter

( located in the fuse panel below and to the left of your steering wheel by the

brake pedal , it has a cover on it )

Go to the dealer. check starter

Inside the Driver's Door there is a sticker with the Gross Vehicle Weight listed on it.

Assuming it's the same setup as the ones I've worked on, (I've never worked on <86), it should be in the fuse box located close to the parking brake pedal. The one you're looking for should be larger than the rest, and cylindrical-shaped.

it could be the DPFE sensor that's what was causing my 02 to surge like that i was told that is a common sensor to go bad. it cost about 75 dollars and took me about 5 min. to replace.

It could be a fuse. If the brake lights do not turn on when you press the brake pedal check your fuses under your dash.

Rear Deck Speakers Are 6x9" and the front door panel speakers are 5 1/4"

I have a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis LS and the air conditioner motor stop blowing. The compressor seems to be getting cold. I have checked the fuses and relays, still did not help. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The motor control unit on these cars (GrandMarq/CrnVic from FoMoCo) is sub par quality and require replacing too often. The MCU is a small circuit board type plug in that is on the firewall near the AC hoses as they enter the passenger compartment. Easy to med difficulty in replacing. I have a 2002 GM LSE that I had to replace the MCU. Dealer only part - $30 - $60.

If it's a driver's side air bag it could be a broken clock spring under the horn pad. The light is blinking it doesn't say which side. How would you know.

Why would you want to ?? If you unhook any of the hoses, the freon will vent, and the system will haffta be purged before it can be re-filled. If it is not working, and you just want to take it off, what's to gain ?? It's alot of messing for no gain. If the compressor is frozen, they do make brackets with idler pulleys to replace it, so the serpentine belt will still work.

On my Ford Explorer , that is equipped with a locking gas cap , I turn and hold

the key while I'm unscrewing the gas cap in order to remove it ( to install the

cap I don't need the key , just screw it in place ( and in my case I wait until the

cap makes a clicking noise )

In older cars 4v = a four barrel carburetor. 2v would be a two barrel and a 1v would be one barrel

if i remember right, u turn the key on and off 3 times, (leaving it on the 3rd time, then count how many times the engine light blinks

Probably a bad front wheel bearing/hub assembly with the abs sensor in it

Plug #5 is at the left front of the engine. Depress the latch on the bottom of the Coil-on- plug connector and pull the connector off the COP unit. Remoce the screw retaining the COP unit. Pull the COP unit up off the plug. Use a 5/8" plug retaining socket to remove the plug. Installion is the reverse. Torque the plug to 15 lb-ft and the COP retaining screw to 10 in-lbs.

Have you checked the coil's ?

The Mass Air Flow Sensor will cause some of the problems that you are having with Idle and acceleration and even code 172 Change out the sensor

Ive had this happen one time & near the drivers side wheel well in the trunk behind the grey trunk liner there was a wire cut & it was releasing the trunk when put in reverse,so I repaired wire with a automotive but connector & it fixed it .

There are 2 issues that need to be looked at in this case. Procure a can of CRC MAF cleaner from a FLAPS. Follow the directions and clean the MAF sensor. The GM sensors get dirty and that confuses the computer. Second clean the Idle air controller with carburettor (Berkebile 2+2 or equivalent) cleaner. Also clean the manifold passages where the IAC lives. If this doesn't fix the issue replace the IAC unit. (NAPA part about $60).

Codes B1342 thru C1175 all deal with ABS System in the Car. I suspect a Bad ABS System Sensor. This would need to be fixed as it could affect your breaking ability.

Code P0308 is a Cylinder 8 Misfire - A good Tuneup should fix this.

Code P1401 is a bad or shorted DPFE Sensor. You'll need to get this fixed.

And Code P0135 is the Heating System Front O2 sensors. Replace your O2 sensor.
