Since this is for a 6-disc changer, sounds like it's jammed....How do you get it unjammed is a really good question.
Ok, try these steps. Try the items listed in the following link: http://www.wikihow.com/Remove-a-Stuck-CD-from-a-Car-CD-Player
I have a 2003 Mountaineer with a 6 CD and you could see the stuck CD in the slot with a flashlight. I used a butter knife with some double-sided tape on to remove the stuck CD. The next problem was that I was still getting a "CD error" message and you could not load or unload the changer. I disconneted the negative battery ground for 10 min then reconnected. The changer went through an initializing process for about 30 sec then worked perfect! Hope this helps....

DO NOT DO The DASH REMOVAL. This fix takes a lot of time and $$$. This is how a shop does it so they can make $$. There's a way to go through the the glove box. Make a cut into the box, remove the blend door and replace it with the kit. 1 hr fix if your handy. On Fords the shaft on the door breaks. (Plastic) Door kit $100. Find kit online or ebay...

What tools I need to remove a radiator on a 2000 mercury mountaineer?
The draincock shouldn't require any tools... you'll want a set of combination wrenches, a 3/8" drive ratchet, and 3/8" drive sockets. A set of 1/4" drive sockets would be good to keep on-hand, as well. You will need a container to keep the drained coolant in until it can be properly disposed of. You will also need tools to take the clamps off the coolant hoses... channel locks can work for this, or there are specific hose clamp tools made for particularly difficult to reach clamps... on a Mountaineer or Explorer, I don't recall any of those being particularly difficult to get to. A small slotted (flat head) screwdriver may be needed to (carefully) loosen to hoses to allow them to be separated from the radiator. When you're refilling the coolant after replacing your radiator, don't forget to 'burp' the cooling system, to remove any trapped air pockets after you refill it... basically, you keep the radiator cap off, and run the engine until it gets up to temp to open up the thermostat... you'll know this has happened once the car heater provides heat, rather than ambient temperature air. Sorry I can't recall the exact sizes offhand, as it's not a vehicle I work on very often. I might suggest you go to your local auto parts store and pick up a Chilton or Haynes manual for that vehicle, especially if you intend to work on it on your own regularly.
Press the "Setup" Button and follow the instructions to do a full system check. When the oil life indication comes up (usually 0% - 10%), press and hold the reset button. When you release the button, it should read, "To reset oil life, press reset". At that point hold the "Reset button until it beeps, or turns back to 100%.
Initially, you may have to hold the reset button, after the system check begins, when you get to the oil life indication, but with a little patience, you should be able to conquer that rotten light.
If you can't get it to work, call your dealer, or a certified mechanic and try to get the information.

Tried the answer above for my '03 Mountaineer and it didn't work. Here's how you do it, easily and correctly, the first time. Ignition on, press the Set Up button once and the display will say "Press Reset for Sys Check" but don't press reset, wait a second or two and press Set Up again and you'll be able to scroll through the options. Keep pressing until you get to the one that says "Pres Reset at Oil Change" and follow the instructions from there....
Why 1998 mercury mountaineer blank radio display?
This is a common problem with this Mountaineer(all). It's due to bad soldering in the Radio. I found a guy on eBay that repaired it cheap. Now my over head display in my 2001 Explorer stopped showing the temp and compass heading because of bad soldering also. There's a answer for that fix on this site..
While we are talking about bad soldering there's a problem with the heater blend door motor on these cars that stops working because of bad soldering also. Easy fix once you pull it out..Just bad circuit boards...
