Heater not blowing hot mercury mountaineer?

Your model should just have coolant flowing directly into the core at all times. A simple check of the flow is to feel both heater hoses going into the firewall from a cold start. The hoses should warm up at about the same rate and get uncomfortably hot. This is a good indication that heat is getting into the passenger compartment.

If it appears that the core is getting hot, the next suspect is the blend door. This door diverts some or all of the air flow through the heater core and commonly fails on the Mountaineer/Explorer/Ranger/Mazda pickup...all of which use the same plenum box. The door is on a vertical axis and has a pervasive problem with the the plastic connection to the motor breaking. The door can swing back and forth randomly or wedge in a strange position, killing heat and AC efficiency. This is an expensive dealer repair, but there is an aftermarket repair kit from HeaterTreater that will address and solve the problem. Complete diagnostic information and diagrams are available.

2001 Mercury Mountaineer change front rotors?

I changed my fronts with no problem. Get your wheel off. Brake caliper off. Caliper bracket off (2 bolts/ its what your caliper screws into). Soak with any wd-40 type product, then tap in between bolts with reg hammer (use caution with bolts and threads.) Because your replacing, you can beat rotor Side to side / up & down. Beat from rear. It will eventually come off. No luck on rears yet. have to find out how parking brake is attach'd first.

What is the head bolt tightening sequence and torque for a 2003 mercury pioneer 3.0 l?

A----5----1----3----7

A----6----4----2----8

A= 8mm bolts (external Torx), the rest are 12mm bolts (internal Torx)

Install the 8 - 12mm bolts first and tighten to 24ft/lb, then install the 8mm bolts and tighten to 24 ft/lb, then go back and rotate the 12mm bolts an additional 90 degrees (the bolts are "torque-to-yield" bolts, discard the old ones and use new bolts for installation)

Why would a 1999 Mountaineer rear wiper only work intermittently?

This is actually a really common problem according to my dad who has been a body man for over 40 years. According to him it may be a loose or improperly sized bolt that holds the wiper motor down. I haven't had him try to fix mine yet because it doesn't bother me that much but he thinks that this bolt problem puts the rear wiper in a bind and occasionally won't let the wiper move. I may have him take mine apart and get a better answer I only worry about messing up the rear door interior panel which is very expensive to replace according to my father. I don't know if this helps but hope so. Also don't take it to a ford dealer because they will turn it on once and if it works they will say "It's working perfectly" and be done with it. To fix the rear wiper: 1) Start the vehicle, 2) Turn the rear wipers on high, 3) go to the back of the truck and pull the wiper out of the stand, 4) push the wiper down until it begins to move (this may take a few times until it senses). I have to do this about every 4-5 months, depending on the road conditions I travel. Seems there is a sensor that gets off from the wiper motor. This should fix your problem

What are the dangers of low oil pressure on 2002 Mercury Mountaineer?

If it is for real, and not a faulty sender, low oil pressure will result in insufficient oil supply to moving parts and surfaces causing excess engine wear and possible engine seizure. If you do not have a proper oil pressure gauge, get one, senders are as useful as an udder on a bull.
