I believe you are talking about a PCV valve. PCV means Positive Crankcase ventilation.

I believe that wire is for the key is in the ignition warning buzzer! Not 100%, but 90%.

This is one operation that doesn't require anything special - standard size sockets, a nice selection of extensions (wobble extensions are particularly handy), and maybe a small crescent/adjustable wrench for the battery cable.

Remove the boot covering the end of the steering rack, There should be a thin flat washer between the tie rod and the steering rack that is flattened over the end of the inner tie rod end. Pry up the flattened points, unscrew the tie rod and reinstall.

Since there is no torque against this joint, just snug-'em up - say around the same as a thermostat housing, about 10 ft. lbs.

The 2001 Mercury Sable has the most common hook-end wiper arms on front and rear. See the Sources and Related Links section below for installation videos. Also, purchase the replacement blades first and there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.

Have all the wheels checked for balance.

NOTE: wheels can be balanced on a typical stand-alone machine, but for the most comprehensive approach, they can balance on the car.

I have a 1997 Ford Taurus that would only blow cold air, I replaced the thermostat and no heat. We flushed the system from a ford dealer no heat. Had to replace the heater core plenty of heat now. Other possibilities are:

You probably have a faulty headlight switch. Replace it and that should fix it. Been there, done that.

if i am not mistaken there is no "raditor cap" The cap that vents the radiator is on the overflow canistor. usually plastic, usually black. use the same safety precautions, getting burnt in not uncommon. do this when the engine is cold if possible. hope it helps. duboff
