How do you boot Linux with Windows?
There are actually quite a few methods from which you could get a Linux system going from Windows. These are:
1. Use a virtual machine.
A virtual machine allows you to run an operating system inside of a window on top of another system. This offers good performance for non-gaming applications, and is usually the most popular option. Programs to accomplish this include VirtualBox (free), VirtualPC (free, but refuses to work on certain editions of Windows), VMWare ($$$), and Parallels Workstation ($$$).
2. Use an emulator.
Probably the slowest method. Bochs and QEMU can be used for this purpose. However, they are not very user friendly. Depending on your computer, the operating system will typically run at 1/3 to 1/2 of the expected speed.
3. Launch the program from DOS
In Windows 95, 98, and possibly ME, you can use Loadlin. Loadlin is a program to launch Linux from DOS. what you would do is create a batch file to launch Loadlin with it's appropriate parameters, and tell Windows to exit to DOS to launch this program.
4. Use coLinux to run cooperatively with Windows.
This is by far the strangest method, and not recommeded for new users. It uses a modified kernel that works with the Windows NT kernel to share resources. After it is launched,you have to use additional tools like PuTTy and Xming to launch applications. Worth trying, but due to other, easier methods existing, it's not the best option under most circumstances.
ECC can detect the error but cannot correct it.

Here is what is going on
The laptop will turn on fine it will run and have a while to enter the BIOS if necessary. Its a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop. It will go to a black screen where it says
"We apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders, choose last known good configuartion to revert to the most recent settings that worked. If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due toa power faiuure or because the power or reset button was pressed, or if you aren't sure what caused the problem, choose start windows normall." It gives me 5 options
1. Safe mode
2. safe mode with networking
3. safe mode with command prompt
4. last known good configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
5. Start Windows Normally I've tried each one the first three will show a bunch of text and reset while the last two will just reset the computer.
How can you hook up your laptop through a wireless router?
The basic answer is yes.
I do not quite know what you mean by 'hook' but I assume you mean wired. The way to do this is to have an ethanet cable, plug it into the laptop and then into the router, so the laptop and router are connected to each other. You then get Internet or whatever the router is for, for your laptop as well.

That actually only brings up the file menu for the application that currently has the input focus. It does not necessarily work for any arbitrary application having the focus. It probably depends on which version of office you have, and what version of windows you are running. In my case, Office Pro 2007 on XP Pro, I do not see a global shortcut key to get to a "master" office menu. If someone knows, please refine this answer.
