You should wait until after your second period after the D&C. That way you also know everything is back to normal.

the cervix is very sensitive at this time. Any pressure on it at all could cause burst vessels and make spotting. Brown spotting is dead blood and is said to be not much concern unless it starts to become clotted and bright red. Prenatal Care is very accurate and doctors and various tests as well as fetal heart pulse are consistently checked...it is very unlikely that if indeed there was a miscarriage at twelve weeks that it would not be dectected on visits. Dr.'s are pretty accurate,but the first time I was pg,the dr. could not get a heartbeat. They told me you usually can not hear the heartbeat till twelve weeks. So they told me I may have miscalculated how far along I was. I knew I was right and started spotting and decided to see another dr. . Finally after seeing this dr., I found out that the baby's heart had stopped beeting at 11wks.and I was almost 17wks along. The dr. did a d&c. My case may have been very rare, not to say that it happens to everyone, but there is a small chance that it could happen. Best of luck to you!!!

Well your HCG level is to double about every other day, and you have had tracking done if it dropping in number than I would say yes, for you to be 4 weeks pregnant and your count be 157 the doctor would tell you if he thought it was low for that time. But with the bleeding and cramping I would call hime right away, if you go in for another blood test see if you number is going up, if it is staying the same or dropping I would say you are having a miscarriage.

You can make an appointment for ultrasound if you want because even if you had a miscarriage the test would show positive since it takes time for the body to settle the hormones. The best thing is to call your doctor on Monday and hear what she says. At 3 weeks and you loose it then, there is nothing they can do.
