i am going on past experience here, but newer dashes(instrument panels) are all digital and just plug into a holder or wiring harness,the days of speedometer cables are basically gone forever.So,disconnect battery and find shroud screws and remove cover,then find instrument cluster screws and undo,cluster should then come out,look on back side for wiring plugs.

get a good eye loop and be in well lit area and inspect the pins were they are soldered into the board.If you find a solder connection that looks like it has a round crack or i/2 round crack then there is probably the problem.This called a cold solder joint.You can resolder if you know how or find an electronics buddy who knows how to solder and let him/her do it for you. If you have instrument with digital numbers it is on possibly the digital display has gone bad,in that case it's junk yard time or purchase a new one.hope this helps.

not trying to be a jerk, but if your unsure take it to your local shop, they would only charge about 50 bucks to put some new spark plugs and new spark plug wires, go to autozone and buy an air filter (they will put it in if you can't) that's a basic tune-up, other than that a fresh oil change and a new FUEL filter ould go a long way(maybe 30 bucks installed and everything)

I am pretty sure the Expo LRV and the Eagle Summit wagon are identical. Mine has the 2.4L engine, there was also a 1.8L engine. The 2.4L version is a 4G64 type engine. There should be a metal plate on the back of the engine compartment that states the engine type. (In the center just below the hood.) Just make sure that the engine you replace it with is the same type.

The best swaps are out of the Evo 4, 5, or 6 and those can be found for sale in the USA with a bit of a high price tag and they drop right in, sharing a similar chassis. You can also swap from a DSM like the eclipse or talon but it takes some fabrication and a little bit of know how. And the 4g69 out of a newer eclipse or lancer has been swapped before but again your looking a the price and the know how. If you were overseas or wanted to import an engine there are a few more options. The Mirage/Lancer was available in a V6, 1.8 turbo, DOHC, just to name a few but parts would be hard to come buy in the States if you needed a repair. You must put the car on jacks and get under it preferably when the engine is cool. Once under the car you will find the A/C compressor located under the brake fluid reservoir. Then locate the pulley which is just below the compressor if you are looking down into the engine bay then loosen this pulley by using a wrench or socket wrench with the nut that is directly in the middle of the pulley. Once complete the pulley should be loose enough to get the belt around it and the compressors pulley, if not you can use a belt stretcher found at any auto supply store. Once finished make sure to tighten the pulley back up but only enough so the belt is tight DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. The belt well have longer life if tightened correctly. GOOD LUCK!

A failing throttle position sensor will cause idling problems when the car is warm. The failing sensor can also cause the car to stall when idling.

The 2.0L engines do not have a map sensor. The ECU meters intake air through the mass air flow sensor to calculate how much fuel to inject.

The 1.8L engines should have a similar setup installed on them but I dont deal in those very often. Hope this helps.

The fuses to the air conditioner are located on the pasenger side of the vehicle. the box looks similar to that of the other fuse box located on the driver side of the car by the battery. just lift the top of the plastic and pull out the fuses. make sure to replace them with the same colored fuses.
