How do you tighten the front shocks on a TTR125?
The front shocks are actually "forks". If you are asking how to adjust them to be more firm, that would depend on how firm you need to go. You can adjust the feel of your forks by a different weight fork oil, different spring or damper rods.

Sounds lean to me. I would check these things out, make sure that the air filter is clean, put in a new plug (gapped properly), drain out the old gas in the tank and put a gallon of fresh 91 octane. Now try the bike, if it is still backfiring, I would pull the carb off and clean it thoroughly pulling the main jet, pilot jet and check what position the clip is in. I would check the owners manual for stock carb settings (if you don't have a manual get with your local KTM dealer) and adjust the carb back to stock. If you are in a higher altitude, check with your shop and see what they are running in their bikes for mj, pj and clip position.

yes it would fit but you need to change the exhaust flange at the front to a 1999 because 99 ktm;s have a concave outlet so the exhaust slips in i know cause i have a 99 ktm 125sx that am rebuilding and i have just purchased a 2001 exhaust flange to fit a 2000-2003 exhaust........simples

I live on the isle of man. They're hugely popular here because we have vast tracts of rough terrain. In England they have "green lanes" which are horse and bike tracks so they've even given the guys their own playgrounds. Two rules - don't frighten the horses and no nobbly tyres.

The price is a little high. It better be in perfect condition. I'm not sure I've seen one for quite that much. But I like the CB550 as a first bike. They're pretty light and nimble. Plenty fast on the highway. A good choice, I think.
