What shade of green is a 1997 Oldsmobile delta 88?
I have a 97 Olds Delta 88 and it appears to be a deep olive green(ish). I found the colour code on the spare tire cover and it is either U208C or U408C - the first digit is scratched and hard to make out.
i looked at local Canadian Tire stores here in Toronto but couldn't find that colour. If you - or anyone else - does, could you please post where?
good luck!
Are you getting the security light in a lit position when this occurs? if so you may have a problem with the security system/passkey chip (small black chip in key) not sending its ohm value reading to your security system (shutting down fuel pump/and motor) and if after about three minutes it restarts correctly sometimes and or the security light comes on/off for no reason this may be your problem. Passkey system can be bypassed by reading ohm value of resistor in key (black chip) just read ohm value and got to a electronics store radio shack's electronics ,etc and make up a resistor of similar value as reading given from meter when ohm-ed out ,trace out wires from lock cylinder and solder in you new made up fake out passkey and bingo security system is now bypassed with out allot of hassle. Just MAKE CERTAIN YOU ARE CUTTING CORRECT WIRES FOR PASSKEY LEADS TO IGN CYLINDER! IF UNCERTAIN YOU CAN TRIGGER AIRBAG BY MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VERIFY CORRECT WIRING. GOOD LUCK IT FIXED MINE AND WAS WELL WORTH IT !!!

P.S. If radio shack can`t get you what you need try mouser electronics or digi key!
good luck!
How do you replace thermostat on a 1987 Oldsmobile delta 88 3.8 l motor?
the thermostat is located in behind the housing of the top radiator hose that goes to the engine. Right side facing engine. 1 bolt needs to be removed then horseshoe shaped retainer. Pull out housing . recommended to change o-ring on housing also.
Engine is a device that can convert chemical energy to mechanical energy. Since this device works mechanically, it composed of several parts that work together during the operation. Parts are either stationary or non stationary, meaning some parts are moving and some are not moving. There are also parts that are fixed to the body yet have the vital role for engine operation. Engine can be divided into three main parts, the cylinder head block, cylinder block and oil pan. This means an engine can be disassembled into three divisions. Each main part have several parts are attached to form as an assembly.
Cylinder block is the foundation of the engine. It is mostly made of cast iron or iron mixed with other metals such as nickel and chromium. Cylinder block has large holes for the cylinder bores. Attached to the block is the crankshaft, connecting rod, piston with rings, oil pump, water pump, timing gears, flywheel, bearings, oil seals, piston liners, camshaft in some engine and drilled oil passages with oil filter.
Cylinder head block is made of cast from cast iron or aluminum alloy. Parts attached to cylinder head block are valves, valve spring, valve guide, valve seat, rocker arm assembly, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, overhead camshaft, spark plug, fixed machined or drilled parts like water jackets, oil galleries, intake and exhaust ports.
Oil pan is made of plastic or metal. Pan is shape to fit the bottom of the cylinder block. Oil strainer and oil drain plug are attached to this part.
Changed battery in 1999 Oldsmobile delta 88 and won't start?
So you changed your battery and it still wont start.
Few things to look at here... lets get started.
Side post battery, ensure the batterys ends are clean and tight. Peel back the first 1/2 inch of plastic on the cable and look for corosion. If its present....either cut 1/2 an inch off it and put on new terminal connectors, its a 3 dollar fix.
Corrosion will prevent the proper ammount of amperage draw to leave the battery and reach the starter. usually indicated by a single click, or clicking when the key is turned.
No clicking at all.. lets take a look at the ignition switch. remove it and take it to your local auto zone for testing. Its free, and takes about 10 minutes to remove and replace. The part is bad this is a 30 dollar fix. This is very common for this year model of car. This is my guess of your problem from past experience.
Last lets take your starter off. It also can be bench tested at Auto Zone for free. It will take you about 20 minutes to remove and 20 minutes to put back on.
Sorry but all of your diag tips require time to remove parts and replace, but your own labor is free vs. A shops labor rate.
I hope this helps you , good luck.
