Ivory is a neutral colour and can be used with any and all colours. Using champagne, beige, ivory and tan would give you a nice calming neutral, monochromatic palette if you are decorating a room. However, it would be advisable to add small bits of color in your accesories to keep the look from being too bland.

Carry a sketch book (and a pencil) with you all the time. Whenever you have a bit of time, pull it out and draw anything and everything you see. Always, date your sketches and when you fill up one sketch book start another. I was told by my favourite "famous" artist, that I should never destroy your old sketch books as they are a record of how much your talents have changed and improved. They are also a great source of subjects for future drawings.

In order to make brown you need 2 complementary colors, such as red and green. You can add more of any color, but you run the risk of making it seem like a hue of that color. If it isn't dark enough you can slowly add some black.

You can't. Its a prime color. It makes other colors but you cant make it.

Acrylic paint has been represented for decades to be "completely safe" because it is water-based, and therefore does not require a solvent to clean up. =Colours that go well with blue in fashion and design would depend on the shade of blue e.g. baby blue goes with pink, yellow, purple, cream, orange, whereas navy blue goes with red, pink, yellow, green etc. If you look up a color wheel on the internet you will find it easier to find which colors match by looking at the first color on one side and matching it with the color opposite the first color.=

The standard color wheel for artists consists of the 3 primary colors, red, yellow and blue arranged in a triangle, and 3 secondary colors. Secondary colors are positioned around the wheel in between their 2 primary colors, for example purple or violet is between red and blue. Beginning with red the colors go around the circle in this order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet.

if it's a high quality finish, try xylol (xylene) available in the paint aisle at your local home improvement store. if it has not soaked into the grain of the wood, a sharp razor blade (used carefully) could also remedy your situation. If not, sanding and refinishing is a last resort.

I have limited funds and want to prime a canvas for an oil painting, and have only used gesso in the past. I have a gallon of KILZ. Would this be an acceptable alternative?

Google Kilz and ask the manufacturer. They say they have many different Kilz products. You would want to be sure before wasting your skills on a painting that would somehow be spoiled by the wrong primer.

I have found watercolor paper to be very good for marbling, because it remains strong when wet. The only drawback I have found is its thickness, which can be a disadvantage in some of the traditional uses of marbled paper such as endpapers in books. If the marbled paper will be freestanding, such as for a greeting card, watercolor is a good choice, but if you plan to glue the marbled paper to another surface, and especially if you will have to fold it, look for a thinner paper.
