Jesus was addressing the parable to all the Jews around him, as he did not want anyone lost.

The moral of the lost sheep , is that god does not want anybody to loose salvation and to go to helland even if itis one person god is willing to save him.

It is a mode of preaching very much used by Jesus to teach lessons. They are stories made that bring up a situation and after finishing ther parable he would proceed and tell the significance to bring up meaning into the lifes he preached to.

This poem is one of the most haunting indictments of the First World War ever written. Wilfred Owen was a British infantry officer during the war, and was killed one week before the armistice. In the poem he takes the traditional biblical story of Abram and Isaac, and uses it as a vehicle to describe his feelings about the nature of the war itself. The poem begins as the bible story does, with Abram preparing his son Isaac for sacrifice as God commanded. But Owen then twists the tale, by making the place of sacrifice the Western Front: Then Abram bound the youth with belts and straps, and builded parapets and trenches there, Then an angel appears, telling Abram to sacrifice instead a Ram, the Ram of Pride. But Abram does not obey: But the old man would not so, but slew his son, And half the seed of Europe, one by one. Owen clearly uses Abram to represent the governments of Europe involved in the conflict, and Isaac the youth of those countries who actually fought the war. The governments chose not to end the war by sacrificing their pride. Instead, they went ahead and wiped out a generation.

The evil, and bad is represented by the veil and his sin... while the good is represented by him being a member of the clergy

The trip began as a selling trek to the fair. He stopped the first night at a merchant friend's inn. After leaving early the next morning, he was arrested by a Russian policeman.

The beggar, who is actually Odysseus in disguise, is mistreated by the suitors in "The Odyssey." They mock him, insult him, and even throw objects at him. Despite their rude behavior, Odysseus maintains his disguise to observe their behavior before revealing his true identity.

Samaritans were people that the other people in that time looked down on --- sort of how people today make fun of Jewish people. They would say the Samaritans were dumb and lazy and mean.

One day a man was robbed and beaten up. He couldn't even get up out of the ditch at the side of the road. People kept going past him, saying 'I can't get involved.' A Samaritan man was going down the road and he stopped. He helped the man up, then he took him to his own house, bandaged his injuries, and fed him. The "worthless" Samaritan was the only person who would help that man.

Yes, that is the whole point of fables and parables. Both are short tales that teach a moral or ethical lesson. However, parables are more akin to the teaching of Jesus Christ wheras fables tend to use animals, inanimate objects, or people (extraordinary or not) to teach morals. Fables are what one would read out of Aesop (Tortoise and the Hare, The Ant and the Grasshopper to name a few).

The merchant is robbed in the Good Samaritan parable to illustrate the theme of compassion and neighborly love. The robbers represent the cruelty and indifference in society, while the Samaritan's actions demonstrate kindness and selflessness in helping a stranger in need.

Parables have human characters while fables have animal characters.
