This is INCORRECT. The insecticide in Advantage, imidacloprid, disrupts the nervous system of the insect, killing it.

l think lime is good for keeping snakes away.i use it every summer about two or three times.it works for me and i have noticed that if i don't put it down within the first month of full heat i always see a snake somewhere near by.i use to use mothballs but the smell was killing me.with mothballs it was difficult to enjoy my yard during the summer.with lime all you have to do is sprinkle a thin line all the way around the outside perimeter of your house and yard and you can relax until the next time it rains really hard.but yes lime does work for me and being that i am extremely scared of snakes ,i would have searched for something else a long time ago!

Back in the old country, we used stinging nettle. Put the nettle in a wooden barrel, and let it stay in the sun for about a week. Spray your plants with that water.

Use a cheap dish washing liquid, about 1 teaspoon to a gallon of lukewarm water. You can add a dash of hot pepper juice or cayenne pepper. Also add about 2 tablespoons of Listerine.

You can also plant abundant, tiny flowers that provide nectar sources for gnat-sized parasitic wasps that lay their eggs in the eggs or bodies of insect pests. Thyme, alyssum, achillea (yarrow), and cilantro or dill that have been allowed to flower are good plants for attracting both parasitic wasps and bees to pollinate your vegetables. These insects help keep pest numbers from getting out of control.

Mothballs are poison and the dog needs to be treated immediately by a qualified vet. You can call your local poison control for immediate treatment but it does not substitute for Medical treatment. You can also call the ASPCA poison control for care instructions but there is a fee for contacting them.

There is considerable debate on this topic. History teaches us that as knowledge improves insecticides become more dangerous. Since there are organic solutions for just about every pest you can easily control them without risk from insecticides. Would you use something today only to find out later how dangerous it is? I did, and am now sorry for it. I used about the most dangerous insecticide available on the market, one that some groups try to get banned. My son ended up with Torrets Syndrome. I may never know if I caused it. But it has changed my sons life, and if I could do it again I would not use it!

To answer your question, ACV has been used in repelling & killing ticks. I spray our yard with it to repel ticks, as they do not like the taste or smell. I also use about 1 teaspoon daily in my dogs water & even put some on a wet cloth and wipe him with it before he heads out in the yard. It has done wonders for keeping them at bay although you get that one or two but they are not attached so I would say Yes it works

The first thing I would try is Moth Balls. They are cheap and effective against alot of insects. *Be careful with the mothballs the fumes are hazardous/toxic. Read the label. Don't just throw them in your attic/crawlspace. Place them in a few buckets/small cardcoard boxes or something for easy removal once they have done their job.

any soap will, if you leave it on for about 15 minutes but it is very importlant to throughly rinse it off the dog, to avoid skin irritation...also if you include some garlic powder in their food, it repells fleas

Garlic is actually known to be bad for dogs, so I would avoid adding it to their food in any form. Dawn dish detergent is so effective on fleas--not because of suffocation because we have used other soaps that do not work at all--it kills them instantly. To avoid a dry coat after a shampoo, follow up with a moisturizing shampoo for dogs.

Contact-kill pesticides should never be applied until the number of pests has risen to a level where economic damage is occurring. Once the number of pests has risen to an unacceptable level, only approved pesticides should be applied by a trained, licensed operator.
