The plastic thing that the buttons are on lifts up and you can disconnect it from underneath by removing the plug.

If your having problems with the code for the immobilizer try disconnecting the battery then re connecting it and it should reset the immobilizer code to either 0000 or 1111, start the car then disconnect the immobilizer as above.

Remove Air Cleaner Box Assembly to gain access to alternator, Loosen bolts on alternator mounting bracket to relax alternator, Push alternator towards block to relax belt and away from block to tighten. Now tighten alternator bolts while keeping tension on alternator.

is the quick answer. if it is because the key wont turn (very common on these) you can still start it by holding the key in the immobilizer pickup and turn the ignition switch with a screw driver but you might have to drill the retaining pin out of the lock barrel.

The driveshaft is held in place by an u-joint on each end of the driveshaft. Each u-joint is held together by two retaining plates. The retaining plates have to retaining bolts. Remove the retaining bolts and the driveshaft will come free.

Well first things first it depends on the model of 306, on my TD GLX It was the rad that blew out and was pissing water out of the weld, however I'm not sure if it's a combined effort at the same time the rad fan on the front went bang, if this is the problem it's not all that expensive repair, go to the scrap yard and normally you can pick them up for £50 However the other things it can be aren't so cheap, for starters this is a tell tale sign of the headgasket being on it's way out this can be repaired/rebuilt however it is about £300 on a rebuild or around £700 to replace. Or it could be crude oil depending on when you last had the car serviced, This problem can be caused by so many different things this is the problem without being able to look over the car it is extremely difficult to figure out what the problem could be, I hope this gives you a starting point, by the way a common thing to happen when the head is on it's way out is the pipes from the rad will become rock solid and feel as if they are unmovable

Open the front hood (bonnet) Locate the air filter, locate the air inlet tube attached to it. Use a screwdriver to loose the bracket, remove the whole air inlet tube with the air filter, in order to gain access to the gearbox. Now you can see the sensor, unplug the connector from the sensor, check the contacts, make a short circuit between the two terminals of the wires, and verify if the reversing lights get lit. (Remember to turn the start key first) In case the lights go on, the sensor has a problem and must be replaced. The switch is mounted on the top of the gearbox and can be seen underneath air inlet tube. At least I think that is it as the reverse lights went out when I unplugged it!
