One can find Direct TV remote control codes by following instructions when setting up their TV. Turn the TV on and set the remote to "TV". If one does the setting up correctly, the TV will turn off when the code is right.

1: Turn TV on manually.

2: Press and hold "Code Search" button on remote until led comes on and stays on.

3: Press Chanel+ until the TV chanel advances (this scrolls through the codes in the remotes memory).

4: Press the mute button to set the curent code in the remote.

I just had At&t U-Verse installed 1/31/13. The tech who installed our system could not get the remote code to work with Apex digital TV. Finally found a code that works, try 1400. i was so stoked that i called the tech who provided the install. Hope this helps.
