I own a diesel (1.9dti) Renault megane 2000 edition. I change the brake pads(front) every 15000 Miles approximately.

Close hydraulic valve on pump( In boot pasenger side just in front of rear lights),pull on tape hanging down in ski box(cubbyhole in boot)and operate lock on lid.

there is a lever under the glove box on passenger side release this then under your bonnet theres a catch to the right side of the peugeot lion release this then bonnet goes up automatic.

check coils function properly. Check earthing points. Check power to the coils.

Timing belts on a Renault Megane 1.5 diesel should be changed every 72000 miles or every 5 years, whichever comes first.

an awful lot of Renault drivers suffer poor starting and a simple replacement of TDC or flywheel sensor solves it - might be carbon related - costs fifty quid or so plus a little labour in most places and main dealers don't seem to know about this common problem

The reason is because the steel tip of the TDC sensor which picks up a signal from the flywheel telling the ECU when to fire the spark plugs gets dirty after a year or two and cannot get the signal.

There is no need to pay up to ££90 for a new one at a Renault garage just simply remove it and clean the tip! also clean the connector.

The fan belt cannot be tightened. The scenic has a tention pulley that automatically adjusts the belt. If the belt is slack, it is either the wrong size or it is stretched and needs to be replaced immediately as serious damage can occur in the event that the belt should slip off.

Without hearing it, I can't be sure, but it could be: Pads not properly seated due to wear. I piece of a pad broken exposing a rivet. Worn down pads exposing rivets. Dust, dirt, pebbles in brake system. I had this problem before, it turned out the ball bearings in one of my wheels needed replacing. This might be the case if the noise is coming from a wheel.

press and hold the button in on r/h side stick , hold until spanner flashes and then next service due comes on hold for a further 10 sec release and turn of engine.start engine now should be clear.

No you cannot. You need to take it to a dealer or a garage with a scanning tool so the immobilizer can be altered electronically

Sounds to me to be the check engine light. The fact that it is flashing may indicate a serious problem. Have it looked at a.s.a.p. If the light was steady,it may not be to serious.

display the screen that shows the service announcement (not any screen), identify the thin and tiny button on your velocimeter, then perssure for almost 30 seconds continuosly, you will see the screen changing but don't lose it until it clears.- work with mine...

I believe I recently paid 700-800 to have that performed at the dealer which included replacing the water pump.

Its o/s front in line with the steering wheel with a high side port (bigger one) Renault changed the low side port for a high side fitting to stop diy fitting and re gassing,

Which is strongly not advised go and get it emptied and weighed cleaned and re gassed. as a connector will cost around £19 by the time you have wasted money and time on gas its not worth it kwik fit re gas for £45 hope this helps

If its the same as my 2005 model, there is a small lever just under the glove box. Pull this out then go round to the front and have a look just below the bonnet in the grill just left of centre should see a black plastic tab approx 1inch wide pull that out you should now be able to open your bonnet. If you cannot see the tab push your bonnet down firmly and repeat the process

Remove the plastic front and it will be visible just under the right side headlight. Lodged in the washer fluid container.
