In order to reset the service light you need to have either a stand-alone OBD II or an OBD interface for a PC/laptop and suitable software. The idea behind this is that you will go back to the main dealer to get you car/van serviced. The equipment is available on eBay etc., although it is a bit expensive just to reset your service light. It might be worth your while checking with a local mechanic as they may have equipment to reset it and they won't charge a arm and a leg.

AddendumI've found that mechanics charge anywhere from $20 to over $100 just to read the codes. I ended up getting an OBD II off eBay for $55 and it reads the codes and resets the light at the same time. If you choose to go that route, you need to be careful that you get the correct OBD II for your model car.Answer

fistly do you know the first digit code ? if not you can get this from Renault dealer and its free.. you own the car you own the code do not no for an answer and don't pay for it .. when you obtain the code follow these steps
hold down central locking button in middle of car by the gear stick until the red light stops flashing on the dash
then release it ..it will flash again but count the flashes ie if your first code number 7 let it flash 7 times then hold the central locking again and repeat for second code number etc ..when all four numbers are put in the dash board lights will flash rapidly ... at this point turn key off and point it at roof censor .. the central locking will click twice .. put key bk in and your car will start as normal and you wont have this problem again ..
the other way is to open your key fob and you will see a 3 digit number.. phone the Renault main office and tell them that number and they will give you the code for the registration number to ure vehicle and follow the steps above ... happy motoring

I've got a 2005 1.5 dci Scenic and had a bulb changed at last service. My invoice stated that the bumper had to be removed and was charged accordingly. Shortly after, the other bulb went but I decided to leave it a while. Wrong decision because the one that had just been changed failed aswell (No headlights). To cut a long story short and to try and save some money, I took the car to a local bodyshop to ask them to show me how to take the bumper off myself and was told that there was no need. He removed the Washer filler spout (just pulls off) and replaced o/s bulb then he replaced the n/s bulb without having to remove anything. Total bill for 2 X bulbs and 5 mins was £10 (cash)!!!!!! Don't be fooled by what the main dealers and manufacturers tell you.

The diagnostic port connector is in the "fusebox" - which contains one of the cpu's underneith the front passenger side footwell, the near vertical part eg where the pedals would be for the driver. Lift the carpet and undo the cover you find there. It's a CAN bus. awj99@yahoo.com
How do you remove the bumper on a Renault Clio Mk3 in order to change the headlight bulb?
You need to remove;
Both front Arch liners - 3-5 Grommets not sure exactly how many there are and 2 Torx screws underneath holding them on. (Do this on both sides)
The 2 bolts and 2 clips you see when you open the bonnet (Where the bonnet catch is)
2 bolts underneath holding the under-tray on.
And finally look through the arch gap like where the bumper meets the wing there's 1 bolt on either side undo both of them and your done.
P.S There is nothing else holding it on, may seem like it, just keep wiggling it. this is because the bumper and wing slot together and REMEMBER to put some protection underneath you dont want it smashing off the ground

Check the footwell storage bins are closed properly - there is a sensor in the lock mechanism which engages the footwell lights when open. You might need to lift the release catch whilst depressing the lid to ensure it closes correctly.

You should have an 'emergency key' that pulls out of the end of the key. The end of passenger door handle should have a hole/slit underneath. Insert a screwdriver and prise flap off and there is a keyhole underneath. Note that this will not deactivate the alarm. The alarm stops when you insert your key into the slot.
