Who manufactured the Transformer hideaway repo unit in the DFW area?
Not sure of a unit called a Transformer, but Pierce Sales in Henrietta, Texas had one called The Recluse that folded out of a normal pickup truck and turned into a repo truck. There was another unit called The Illusion made by a company in Houston, but I believe they went out of business.
The person wishing to take the action needs to be certain that the debts were actually discharged in the bankruptcy before he or she can take any steps to have the liens lifted.
The other issue would be if the property was legally transferred according to the federal or state bankruptcy laws or if it is being challenged as a fraudulent conveyance.
If the BK has not been discharged and in most cases closed as well then the liens may still be valid.
The best option is to consult with an attorney who is knowledgeable in federal and state bankruptcy matters.
What happens if your car is repossessed after you file bankruptcy without a court order?
Karen, it is possible to do so legally. You should ask your B/K attorney if it was legal the way it was done. S/he is in a btter position to know ALL the facts. Within days of filing the BK, your finance company should have received notice that you filed for BK protection. If they wanted the vehicle, they should have filed a Motion to Lift the Automatic Stay. It is up to the BK court to grant or deny the Lift of the Automatic Stay. If they didn't, then they cannot legally repossess the vehicle. If they did, they have every right to repossess the vehicle. Consult your attorney immediately.

Can you use a small claims judgment to place a lien on the debtor's vehicle?
In most states, you cannot get a lien on a vehicle unless the debtor voluntarily grants one to you. Your other option is to have the vehicle sold at a public auction to help satisfy the debt. * Small claims judgments are generally for monetary recovery only. The judgment can be executed as a wage garnishment or in some states as a bank account levy.
Does the landlord need to know when you file chapter 7?
Not necessarily if you are already in a lease and making your rent payments on time. It is, however, not hard to find out if a person has filed for bankruptcy if your landlord runs your credit or checks because it is a public record.

What documentation do you need to remove your car from a tow yard after a tow away?
Proof of ownership of the vehicle and, if it some kind of fee needs to be paid prior to release, proof of that payment and, of course, any fee due to the tow company.
Mike, actually IF you can prove the injury happened during the repo and was the agents fault, you will come out ahead. Now if the agent had cameras on the truck as most do, you may face an uphill battle. Otherwise, it will be a you said/ he said spitting contest as to who is right and who is wrong. Mike, it is your responsibility to get your payments in on time as agreed. It is the lenders responsibilities to repo the collateral when it becomes apparent that you are not able to do as agreed. Why didnt you simply give the repoman the money that you were gonna take the dealer first thing in the morning? Save you a trip to town. IF you can prove your allegations, go see an attorney ASAP and get the ball rolling. Good Luck
Can a lender charge you repossession fees if the car doesn't leave your driveway?

How do you find a repo job in your area and does it pay good enough due to the risk factor?
The only place that I have been able to find for repossession jobs is repomanjobs.com. I posted my resume a couple of weeks ago and just found a job recently. They're pretty good on answering questions and providing support. Other than that, I have no idea where to find repossession companies for repo man jobs. Hope this helps.
AnswerYou have to be a smart, self starter, with go navigational skills. The job is not always at night, but of course requires night work and weekend work. Its a job of opportunity, meaning you have to be there when the car is available for a SAFE AND PEACEFUL recovery. When places have garages and such, you have to be able to go up talk to these people professionally and respectfully. Repo agents do make good money if you are working for a good reputable company. If you are a lazy butt, and just drive around form 9 to 5, and expect a car to just jump out at you with flashers on, you will not make money. You need a clean driving record, and a clean criminal history in order to obtain a repo license. It is an exciting, ever changing, career. Its a job of brains, not a job of brawn. AnswerTry this.........Look up repo companies in your local area, call and ask to come in for an interview. Go and LISTEN to what the owner says to you.Ignore the hype on TV and the movies, that is Hollywood B.S.
The real job is long boring hours, and all ways at night and on the week ends. Forget about making big money, as a employee. The guy who owns the company is the one who has invested HIS money in equipment, and contracts with the banks and loan companies, plus computers and office equipment and of course a secure yard and building.
If you want to make good money, with out working at night or on the weekends, learn to be a SKIP TRACER, the guy who finds the debtors who are being sought by the lenders. Paid for successful locations found, and no nobody is trying to shoot you.
AnswerI own a repo company in SC and we handle repossessions in NC and SC. I personally try to hire by word of mouth. If I hear about someone looking for work and I know that person has a clean criminal record, good driving record, will listen to instruction and not try to be a know it all cowboy, I usually approach them. People that call me and ask "are you hiring" I usually figure my competition put them up to doing that to find out who my clients are or how things work inside my company. Best thing to do is either go face to face to the local repo companies or find someone who works for one and get to know him/her. Eventually if you are straight up someone will recommend you. Remember, we carry millions in insurance and cannot afford some idiot that is going to get out insurance canceled, get us sued, cost us a 100K/year client, etc. There is a reason that smart repo companies are careful who they hire. All good answers so far. This is not a easy business you have to keep your cool in any situation not for the weak at heart of easily excited RE: (pissed off) there is a science to everything my moto after 20 years in the business is get in get out with out being seen or heard do that and you are home free I worked in baltimore washington and all over tri state area with that attitude and live to tell about it don't be scared but don't be stupid.

In the state of Texas can a creditor put a lien against your home for a repossessed vehicle?
The answer is yes, if the creditor brings you to court on the matter.
Yes. What happens is that they auction the vehicle. They can auction a vehicle 10 days after they repossess it, not before. They take that money, apply it to the loan. Whatever balance is left is what you are responsible for. One thing you can question, is what the vehicle is auctioned for. They have to make every reasonable effort to sell it for book, they just can't sell it for $10 if it is a $10K vehicle, if you know what I mean. There are guidelines that they have to adhere to.

Can a person file for ch 7 bankruptcy even though he is still in ch 13 bankruptcy?
Yes and no. No you cannot file for two types of bankruptcy at the SAME time. But yes you can file for chapter 7 bankruptcy if you were unable to complete chapter 13, which is very common. This can be done once for any reason, without court approval. However, to switch back, approval of the bankruptcy court is required, and they will rarely allow a debtor to make multiple switches.
Note that in switching from Chapter 13 to Chapter 7, much of the debtor's property is now up for grabs to be sold off to pay his or her debts. However, if the debtor cannot make the payments under a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, switching to Chapter 7 may be his or her only option.

Your payment can be as low as $0 a month, based on income and # of dependants. You also have the balance forgiven after 25 years of repayment, even if you have hardly paid any of it.

Peggy, the lender got a judgment against you for the Unpaid Balance after selling the car. That judgment becomes a sellable item.
