Do you mean how do you jump the battery? Even though the battery itself is located in the trunk if it dies and you need a jump you still go in the hood. There is a bolt on the drivers side up under the lip of the hood toward the grill. You almost have to look upside down to see it. This is a remote negative. Clamp black here. Also on the drivers side of the engine, the positive clamp goes on a bolt underneath what looks like a battery cover but really isn't. Hope this helps.

Pull out the radio bezel...to do this grab the heater vents at the top of the bezel and pull out, releasing the clips of the bezel. Unplug the connector at the top and then remove the 4 9/32 screws holding in the radio

The first model year for the Saturn Ion was 2003. It uses a GM Ecotec engine that has a chain cam drive just like the original S series Saturns produced until 2002.

It means there is a problem with the anti-lock braking system. If the light is on, The system is not working. What this means is that in an emergency panic stop where you stomp on the brakes, the front wheels will lock and the car will slide forward instead of coming to a safe controlled stop.

look for a round cylinder type part with a large plastic nut.

That's the oil filter, the fuel filter is under the car passenger side rear.

the door panels on every Saturn ive worked on comes apart by taking screws out and the fron of the door comes off to get to the inside of the door

If you have manual windows, you have to make, borrow, rent, or buy a tool for removing the crank c-clip. A stop at a local body shop might get you a free removal.

If you have removed the crank handle or you have power windows, do this:

1 - Remove your trim triangle. It's a black piece of plastic used to cover the bolts, which hold your mirrors on. Simply grasp the top of the triangle in tug. A spring clip holds it in place. Inside the cavity will be a piece of acoustic foam. Pull the foam out.

2 - look down in your inside door handle well. There should be a rubber insert, which covers two screws. It is glued in the center, allowing you to move each side away to expose one of the two screws. Remove these screws.

3 - Remove the screw below the speaker. The screw is located toward the front of the door. You can't miss it.

4 - Remove two plastic retainers, which will be located on the rear (latch side) of the door. These are typical GM two-stage plastic retaining pins. Use a screwdriver to pull out the top part of the pin. The bottom part of the pin will slide out easily.

5 - The door is now held by 5 nylon friction pins. Three pins run along the bottom of the door and two pins run along the front of the door. Start from the back (latch side) and gently pull the panel away from the sheet metal. Use a tool to help separate the door panel. It's smart to wear gloves as door panels have some sharp edges. Tug on each location where you feel resistance. The pins will pop out of their holes.

6 - While gently rocking the door panel, lift straight upto remove the top ridge from the window opening.

7 - Disconnect the wiring from the door panel.

Now you have access to the speaker and some of the window mechanism.

Note: If you can reroute the wiring for the power mirrors, the trim triangle is a great place to install a tweeter.

there are 2 pull releases in the trunk located at the top opening when looking into the trunk.. you cant miss them

You need a 9/16" box end wrench for the drain plug. The filter requires a special socket to remove the cap. I used to use a 1 1/4" open end wrench until I bought the socket from Snap-On.

Look inside your door panel or the step on the drivers side for the manufacturers recommendations.

ok looking at the dash you have the 2 vents on the center console where the radio is.. pull hard on the center of the vents. this should pull the top out.. now just pull the sides of the dash peice and it should pop right off.. just clips holding it in place

next there should be a few screws along the sides of the radio.. take those out and radio should pull out..

If you mean the shifter knob, here's how you remove it.

The collar at the base of the knob that is attacked to the boot....grab it and turn it counter clockwise. When it stops, slide it down off the shift knob... then grab the knob and pull it straight up until it comes off the ahifter shaft. A little wiggling wouldn't hurt.

If you mean the HVAC knobs, they should pull off. If the knob is frozen (as was a problem on early build 2003 cars), the entire HVAC control unit must be removed and replaced. To get to the HVAC control unit, you need... a flat tip screwdriver or interior trim removal kit (the latter has less of a chance of damaging trim piece). Insert the flat tip into the gap between the radio surround bezel near the upper left corner, and pry. You should head a snap and it'll pop outwards slightly. This is because the bezel just uses metal insert tabs to hold it in place. Continue prying around until it comes off. Unplug the Hazard switch (and traction control button if so equipped) and there ya go. You should now be able to freely get to the HVAC unit. This should also allow you access to the stereo head-unit, should you want to upgrade it. Many people also take this opportunity to paint the radio bezel the same color as the car's body for a unique touch.
