Hold buttons 1 & 2 for about 5 seconds. A 4-Digit code will appear. ex. "8769" Give this code to a GM dealer. I've heard they wil charge $100. Justanswer.com charges 18$ per successful answer but they might have your code. You NEED the 4-Digit code to get anywhere.

The oil filter is accessed freom the top of the engine. Remove the oil cap then pull up on the big black plastic cover that's over the engine. remove the cover. On your right side down about 4 in from the top of the engine there is a black plastic cap The oil filter is in this cap so you need a 1-1/4 inch socket or wrench to remove the cap and replace the oil filter

this info is based on my 2003 Ion, but i would think it would be the same for 2004 (or 2005 in another question).

there is a 28-pin connector that connects the radio to the wiring harness in the dash. each wire is labeled as to what it does. ie, the function is written right on the wire. a built-in wiring diagram. hope this helps. i wrote down the pinout at home and can post that if needed -- I'm away just now.

I have a 2006 Saturn ion. The reduced engine power light came on and the car still runs but will not accelerate and only goes 30mph

I believe there is none, it has an Electronic power steering. They replaced mine on my 2003 ION.

Use a wrench and turn it counter clockwise till it is loose. Then keep turning till it falls out into your hand. Beware HOT oil. Hope This Helps.

Dangerous, not necessarily. but definitely something you should get fixed right away. If it's just the bushings, it's not really a huge job. but if you let it go for a few months, it will be worse.

If it is the same as an 2003 Ion it is located behind the glove box. To get to it you need to take everything out of the box then push in on the two sides to release. That will cause the glove box to drop even lower and the filter compartment is located inside at the top.

Do you mean the low coolant light? if so, check the coolant level in the coolant recovery reservoir. If it is slightly low, add a mix of 50/50 antifreeze and distilled water. If it is extremely low, suspect you have a leak. If you see no apparent leak, take the car to a professional, as you may have an internal leak such as a blown head gasket. If your car is blowing white smoke, you for sure have a blown head gasket. This is critical and will cause severe internal engine damage. Have this repaired, and stop driving the car until you can.

Also, if the coolent level is ok, you may need a new coolent reservoir. there is a sensor on them and when they get bad, the coolent light is always on.

If you installed a trailer light set up you should go back and verify the connection or remove it to see it the problem goes away. I have had the same problem with other vehicles and yes the dash light are tied in with the tail lights.

Unfortunatley they no longer come off track. You window regulator has probably broken. you'll have to remove the door panel and replace the regulator assembly.

the ion vt trans is ran by belts on the inside not gears, Saturn never even sold replacement parts for it so if it goes out u got to buy a new one

You need a 15 mm wrench for the oil plug and a 32 mm wrench for the cap on the oil filter. You may use a FRAM CH9018 oil filter that comes with new o-ring. Use five quarts of 5W-30 (SF or better) oil.

Turn key to accessory or on position. Reset the OIL LIFE by press and releasing the trip/rest button until OIL LIFE message is displayed. Then press and hold button until RESET is displayed after 5 to 10 seconds. Turn the ignition switch to Lock.

iwhat does the noise sound like. most likely a worn belt or belt tensioner if its a high pitched squealing noise.

Per the owner's manual: "Use regular unleaded gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher. However for best performance and for trailer towing, you may wish to use middle grade or premium unleaded gasoline." GM sure covers all the bases. I've had no problems using regular grade in mine. All 2000-up Northstars can use 87 octane gas. I run 93 since it can give an extra edge if you are driving the car hard like I do. But for casual driving, 87 is fine. My 2000 Deville knocks a little on 87 octane. Instead of buying premium 91 octane, I fill up and leave about three gallons to spare. Then for the remaining 3 gallons, I add E-85 ethanol. It is 105 octane and the car runs great on this mixture. You should not add any more than a 50% mixture of this to your gas as it will confuse the O2 sensor and cause a check engine light. E-85 is corrosive to a non FFV (flex fuel vehicle) but at this mixture, you will be fine and if the check engine light comes on, simply put a little more 87 octane in. If you mean "what" is making noise when you turn the steering wheel? It usaually means you need power steering fluid. If you run too long without power steering fluid it will make your power steering go out. If it is making a shuttering noise when you take sharp turns. Your rear differential may need to be serviced. I would have is burnished.
