And the other three horsemen naturally follow in the wake of this disobedience and perversion of our Creator's Love.
Famine follows and overlaps war... pestilence and disease follows and overlaps in the wake of death and war.
It's a vicious cycle of "sin" [disobedience to the Ten Commandments] that mankind, who chose the wrong god to worship and obey in the beginning [see the Garden of Eden account in Genesis 3] has repeated throughout his generations.
It's an endless cycle of religious hatred, envy, resentment, jealousy, lust, greed and death that in the end, is definitely AGAINST MANKIND. And the god man chose to worship and obey in the beginning laughs with delight at the destruction he's caused and guided God's special creation, man, through... as well as the ongoing destruction of the once-perfect earth that sustains him.
In the end... the Four Horsemen are "for themselves." These four destructive results of our sins [disobedience] are self-perpetuating. And unless SELFISH, REBELLIOUS mankind learns to Obey his Creator's Commandments -- LEARNS SELFLESS LOVE -- then the Four Horsemen will one day complete their global ride:
"For that will be a time of GREATER HORROR than anything the world has ever seen or will ever see again. In fact, unless that time of CALAMITY is shortened, THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE WILL BE DESTROYED..." (Matt.24:21-22 NLT New Living Translation)
Fortunately for mankind, his Creator is going to stop the Four Horsemen from completing their ultimate destructive mission [after man has learned life's cruel lessons]... because, contrary to popular belief, God is on our side. He's always been there for His Children. They are the ones who "Obey His Commandments" [Rev.14:12]:
"...But it [the soon-coming "horrifying days of Four Horsemen-induced calamity"] WILL BE SHORTENED FOR THE SAKE OF GOD'S CHOSEN ONES." (verse 22)
It is a fact of life, however, that the effects of the Four Horsemen don't come off as a total detriment to man. At least to those who can see these things for what they are... the self-imposed problems and trials of life. There is a tragic... yet necessary aspect to them:
"We can REJOICE, TOO, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that THEY ARE GOOD FOR US - they HELP US LEARN TO ENDURE. And endurance develops STRENGTH OF CHARACTER in us, and Character strengthens our confident expectation of Salvation. And this expectation will not disappoint us. For we know HOW DEARLY GOD LOVES US, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to FILL OUR HEARTS WITH HIS LOVE." (Rom.5:3-5 NLT)
The Four Horsemen are man's constant stark reminder of his disobedience to his Creator's Commandments -- his natural, carnal minded, selfish and rebellious flesh and blood inability to Love and Respect God, as well as his "neighbor" [your neighbor is anyone who isn't you]... his fellow man ... with God's Selfless Love.
Man's disobedience [sin] gives the Four Horsemen their power... their worldwide strength and endurance. Resentment and hatred of beliefs different from our own. The bickering, fighting and death that it propagates. Famine and the pestilence and disease transmitted globally in all compass directions from the festering unattended pollution left on the worldwide battlefield.
They aren't "real" horsemen, of course. They are the manifestations of our disobedience to God's Laws. They are the "effects" of what we have "caused" through our REBELLIOUS ACTIONS... all of which begin with A THOUGHT!
"Murder" begins with the negative spiritual attitude of "anger and hatred." Adultery, disrespect for God, parents and others, stealing and lying all begins with the attitude of "lust" [coveting - see Rom.7:7]... the selfish desire to take what is not ours, and do what is not our prerogative.
These "four things" hold no allegiance to [for or against] anyone or anything. It's the "sinner"... the one(s) whose thoughts and actions "cause" and bring these "four effects" to fruition... that "choose up sides" to take these "deadly effects" as far as they dare to go. Which for some [if this world's god has anything to say or do about it] is to "utter destruction."
The "four effects" of man's sinful actions aren't conscious things. They don't "choose up sides"... but merely exist due to man's disobedience to his Creator's Laws.
It's man's Creator who is FOR US! It's He who is able to help us overcome the "four destructive effects" we've created for ourselves... by REMOVING THE CAUSE [our disobedience].
"Therefore, since we have been MADE RIGHT in God's sight BY FAITH, we have Peace with God because of Jesus Christ our LORD has done FOR US." (Rom.5:1 NLT)
"When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died FOR US sinners. Now, no one is likely to die for a good person, though someone might be willing to die for a person who is especially good. Jesus Christ and His Father are in the process of "removing the four effects" from planet earth [the one place in the universe to which He has confined SIN {disobedience}] until He defeats them, altogether.

Not by "writing His Laws on stone tablets" ... which is not unlike the selfish, rebellious "stony, hardhearted, stiff-necked spiritual attitude of man." No, not anything from outside of man will God do, but:

Our Creator is "on our side"... He's - FOR US - working to remove the "effects" of the Four Horsemen. God is on "our side." And He's working on removing the "effects of the Four Horsemen" who are merely inanimate "symbols" without conscience. He's removing the "effects" of these vile, murderous Horsemen by removing the "cause" of the effects -- by changing MAN'S MORTAL NATURE!
It's man and his selfish, rebellious nature that "chooses up sides"... which in turn, makes manifest the "unfeeling, uncaring, impersonal" false political and religious beliefs, wars, famines, pestilences and diseases that plague planet earth! From the moment man's sins "cause" the manifestation of the "effects" of the Four Horsemen; the "effects" don't care about "sides" or "loyalties" or "allegiances" or "political affiliations."
