An audio-cassette purportedly carrying a recorded voice message from Osama Bin Laden stated that the Bali bombings were in direct retaliation for support of the United States' war on terror and Australia's role in the liberation of East Timor. This attack was claimed as the deadliest act of terrorism in the history of Indonesia according to the current police general, killing 202 people including 88 Australians, 38 Indonesian and 5 Swedish citizens and 240 people were injured.

After the Bali bombing, the US classified Indonesia as a frontline country in the global war on terror and provided funds and training to an elite counter-terrorism squad, Detachment 88, set up in the wake of those blasts. The results exceeded many expectations: The last major attack against foreigners was in 2009, and Jemaah Islamiyah, Al Qaeda's Southeast Asian offshoot responsible for the 2002 Bali bombing, has been crippled by a police crackdown and rifts within the organization. And all of the major suspects who participated in the 2002 Bali attack have been killed or imprisoned. Indeed, for the past 15 years, since strongman President Suharto stepped down, Indonesia has been a model of stability.

Since 2001 the United States has increased aviation security by keeping terminals free of non ticketed passengers,by putting bars on cockpit doors, by putting sky marshals on planes, and by putting federal govt. in charge of airport security.

There are many reasons, here are just a few.

They believe it is the only way they will be listened to.

They want power and to impose their views on others.

They believe they are being persecuted.

They are insane.

In August 2010, the US received intelligence that Osama bin Laden was in hiding in a compound in Pakistan. They used information from couriers who traveled to and from the compound to determine the exact location.

On May 1, 2011 President Obama announced that Osama Bin Laden was killed by US troops on the ground in a 40-minute firefight. He was killed by the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) and four men, including Osama, died in the attack. No American was wounded or killed.

Osama was shot at least once in the head. The US has custody of his body. President Obama ordered the attack after receiving intelligence of bin Laden's location in a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. The US first received this intelligence in August 2010. Bin Laden was the mastermind of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and has been in hiding for nearly a decade.

Individuals or groups have used fear and intimidation to achieve political goals.

The Taliban provided Bin Laden's organization with food, shelter, weapons, ammunition, and military training.

Mullah Omar (Late) , the Taliban leader, restored peace in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, the Taliban imposed a very extreme kind of law and system of punishments that is against the basic teachings of Islam.

None of them. You can't sue for that at all and the men who did 9/11 were not in the country illegally.

The War on Terror is a term used to define an international military campaign led by the United States and the United Kingdom with the support of other NATO as well as non-NATO countries.

The question is not really why the Terror was necessary, which is debatable; but why the clique in power thought it was necessary. Their main concern was summed up in the phrase; La Patrie en Danger. Normally, when the country is in danger, it's a simple matter of everyone pulling together. But in the early days of the Revolution, many people still sided with the Monarchy, which meant with a family closely allied to the very foreigners who were invading the country. The purpose and justification of the Reign of Terror was to eliminate the most prominent of the opposition, and to cow their followers into submission, or at least silence and inaction. This was felt necessary for the unity and the preservation of the country.

Hama, also known in antiquity as Hamath, is a city in Syria that is located about 132 miles north of Damascus. It was destroyed around 720 BCE by Sargon the Second. In 1982, it was again decimated in an attempt to uproot the Muslim Brotherhood which had made its home there. This is really the only connection of note that the city has with Islam.

Hamas and Zionist extremist groups actively prevent peace and facilitate violence in furtherance of a one-state vision where the other group has minimal rights or presence. In the case of Hamas, Jews have no future or legitimacy in their vision of a unitary Palestine and will be to ethnically cleanse the Jews from Israel. In the case of Zionist Extremists like Kach Kahane Chai, Palestinian Muslims have minimal rights or must be repressed in a unitary Jewish State.

The Taliban is an extremist fringe of Islam. To give you an idea, I once heard it said that the Taliban is to Islam what the Ku Klux Klan is to Christianity.
