Best oil for 2005 Toyota solara?
Depends on your mileage really. A full synthetic oil is always best but, if your car is high mileage and has the annoying oil leak syndrome, you may want to go to any of the variety of oils that are sold as 'high mileage' oils. These are oils that are sold for vehicles in excess of 75,000 miles and contain a higher ash content to contain those annoying leaks. Check out Kmart or Walmart and your high mileage oils are clearly marked on the manufactures label...
How do you replace a headlight bulb in a 2006 Toyota Solara?
Tools needed: Phillps screwdriver and #10mm Socket. Unscrew 5 screws that hold grill on. Unscrew the 2 screws that hold the headlight bezel on (underhood). Unscrew the 2 screws to the turn signal light. There is a bolt behind it you need to undo to remove the headlight. Unscrew the sidemarker light. It is on top in corner..and remove it by jiggling it forward. Using ratchet and#10mm socket, unbolt the remaining 3 bolts that hold the light assembly on.Pull gently towards you/out...but not to far as there are 2 plugs that must be unhooked first. Depress the center tab on each and they should unplug/slide off. There are 3 screws that hold a locking cover on that you need to remove to get to the bulb. Pay attention on how it is installed. Remove, replace with new bulb and use some bulb grease on connectors to keep moisture out. Plug the new lightbulb in and reinstall the light aseembly using one bolt to hold in place. Test headlight by turning key to 'on' and turn headlights on. If it works turn key off and continue doing the reverse as listed above. If not, check your connections. Good Luck. Oh...and while you're at it, you might as well replace the working side since you just did the majority of the labor. :)
How do you change spark plugs on a 2002 Toyota solara?
IF YOUR 2002 SOLARA IS A 3.0L ITS FAIRLY SIMPLE. THE FRIST THREE ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ENGINE. THE THREE BLACK BLOCKS YOU SEE ARE FASTEN TO THE VALVE COVER WITH A 10MM BOLT. THOSE BLOCKS ARE THE COIL PACKS. REMOVE THE BOLTS THEN REMOVE A SMALL WIRE HARNESS WITH A SMALL SCREW DRIVE, ITS JUST A CLIP. PULL THE COIL PACK STRAIGHT UP AND THE PLUG IS UNDER THAT. DO THAT FOR EACH COIL PACK(3). THE OTHER THREE PLUGS ARE BEHIND THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. FOLLOW THE THREE WIRES FROM THE FRONT. THESE ARE NOT COIL PACKS JUST NORMAL PLUG WIRES. IT IS TIGHT IN THE BACK BUT CAN BE DONE WITH OUT REMOVING THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. I HAVE BIGHANDS AND I DID IT FINE. REMOVE THE WIRES FROM THE VALVE COVER BY PULLING THEM STRAIGHT UP THEN THE PLUG WILL BE UNDER EACH WIRE.
Where is fuel filter on 2002 Toyota solara?
Drivers side, under (approx. 12-18") the Brake master cylinder on the inside frame rail. A simple way to find it is to follow the gas line from the fuel rail to the filter.
Two nuts attach the fuel line, one on each side. It should be a 14mm for the under side line and may be a 17mm (?) for the filter bottom. If possible to use a hydraulic line wrench to remove the nuts to prevent rounding them off.
On the top remove the cover to reveal a plastic clip, squeeze together and it pops out.
You line will have a residual pressure, so have something to protect yourself and catch the gas.

How do you remove seized torque plate bolts on a 2000 Toyota Solara?
I'm wondering if you mean "flex" plate? A "torque plate" is something that's used during engine assembly and I can't imagine bolts seizing for a temporary installation. A "flex" plate is the disk at the rear of the engine in an automatic transmission car (replacing the flywheel of a manual transmission vehicle).
If it's actually flexplate (or any other bolts) that are seized you have a couple of options. First I'd use a liberal amount of penetrating oil on each bolt. Let sit 24 hours. The oil will work its way through rust. If you still can't remove the bolts with an ordinary wrench, try an impact wrench. Your next option is heat. Try heating the bolts with a propane torch then hit them with the impact wrench.

Is a 7.5 or 20 amp fuse used for the radio in a 2005 Toyota solara?
Check your owner's manual and/or inside the fuse box lid. The '06 Solara manual shows the audio system fuse (#25) is 25 amps. It should be the same for the '05 but, again, the required value is in your manual.

What is the check engine light on a 2007 Toyota solara mean?
Check your owners manual for a more complete description.
The light may be advising you of an engine sensor failure. It may also simply be telling you the gas cap wasn't tightened the last time the tank was filled. Check that first. If the cap was left loose it may take a couple of engine starts before the system resets the light. If the cap is tight, drive to an auto supply store that will loan you a code reader. Plug the reader into the port under the dash (to the right of the steering wheel) to find out what the car's computer thinks is wrong.
By the way, don't confuse the Check Engine light with the Maint light. The latter is simply a reminder that the vehicle is due for an oil change. It will blink at engine start 4500 miles after being reset then will stay on solid at 5000 miles. Change the oil, reset the light.

How do you change 2006 Solara cabin filter?
Ah, easy one. You'll find instructions in your owners manual page 198. If you don't have a manual here's the basic procedure: 1. Open glove compartment door. On the right side you'll see a small arm (attached to a hydraulic piston) connected to the door with a Phillips screw. Remove the screw and set aside someplace safe. Remove the arm from the door by pulling (gently) toward the right side of the car. 2. Remove the door by squeezing both sides inward and levering downward. Set the door aside. 3. You'll see a 'drawer' immediately behind where the glove box door was. Pull out the drawer and you'll find the filter inside. Remove/replace the filter and reassemble in the reverse order. It took longer to read that than to actually do it. Cheers
How do you change spark plugs for 2004 Toyota solara v6?
The good news is, thanks to Iridium tipped plugs, you only have to do this every 100,000 miles (check your owners manual). If you aren't there yet then don't worry about it.
The process is only complicated by the things you have to remove to reach the plugs. The plastic panel on top of the engine comes off. To reach the rear bank the intake plenum comes off. Now, notice each plug has its own coil, three atop each rocker cover. Remove the bolt holding the coil and tuck all six bolts away in a safe place where you'll be able to find them later. Lift each coil to expose the plug boot and remove it from the plug. Once the coils are off (be sure you don't mix them up) remove the old plugs.
Replacement is the opposite of the above. Be sure to use some anti-seize on the plug threads and torque the plugs properly (18 ft lbs). Torque for the coil bolts is 71 inch pounds, for the plastic cover 70 inch pounds, intake manifold 11 ft lbs.
Now, don't you wish you had an old clunker that had spark plugs visible as soon as you popped the hood? ;)
How do you change the air filter on a 2007 toyota solara?
Assuming you're talking about the engine air filter:
1. Open the hood
2. Peer into the darkness at the front of the engine compartment on the drivers side. You'll notice a fairly large black box with a large black tube (the air intake) between it and the throttle body.
3. At your option, remove that tube (takes more time but makes the rest of the job simpler) or just loosen the clamp nearest the box.
4. The big black box has two, 10 mm bolts on one end (nearest the fender). Unscrew those bolts.
5. Unplug the Mass Airflow Sensor (connector on top of the tube at the box end)
6. Lift the box lid from the side the bolts were loosened and flip it over so it's resting on the engine if you didn't remove the intake tube. Just set it aside if you did.
7. Remove the original filter and check inside the box for heavy collections of dirt, critter nests or anything that might contaminate your brand new filter. Wipe them out.
8. Put new filter where you removed the old one and reverse the process to re-assemble the airbox.
Done!
By the way, if it's time to replace the engine air filter, it's also time to replace the cabin filter. You'll find that behind the glove box door. Just remove the door, pull out the tray containing the filter, remove the old one (note the airflow direction), put in a new one and re-assemble the door.

What are the best tires for a 2004 Toyota solara?
There is no single correct answer to that question.
The best tire for any vehicle depends on the person driving and the use the vehicle is put to. For example: If you only putter around town and don't drive aggressively you could probably be happy with those rock hard five-for-one-hundred-dollar tires. If you do a lot of highway driving you might opt for a quiet tire or one that offers higher fuel mileage. Aggressive drivers who enjoy taking the car out on the twisties to work the suspension and enjoy the car a bit will want a softer compound with better traction (usually giving up some overall mileage).
So, consider the kind of driving you do, the sort of mileage you expect from the tire and your priceline. All those things considered you can choose the "best" tire for you.

Will a filed key open your Toyota salora?
With a properly cut (filed) key you can lock/unlock the driver's side door (and with the convertible the trunk latch handle). You will 'not' be able to start the car though. For that, the RFID chip inside the key has to be programmed.

How do you remove the rear seat in Toyota Solara SLE 2001 convertible?
Rear seat removal is pretty much the same for most cars. Lift the front of the seat straight up. Once any clips have cleared pull the seat forward (toward the front of the vehicle) and lift it out. Having a convertible makes the job much easier.
Seat back removal can be a little tougher but usually involves loosening bolts at the lower end (hidden by the seat cushion) then lifting up and out.
If the above doesn't work for you download a factory service manual from Toyota. It's only about $10 (for 24 hours of download time) giving you easy access not only to the service manual but any factory authorized repairs for your car.
