yes, they are both the same. the only internal difference between a 22r and a 22re are the pistons are shaped different for different compressions.

This vehicle requires the use of Premium Fuel, and the use of Regular will cause pinging and eventually do damage to the engine. If you are using Premium, then either it is out of time or has carbon buildup. Have the timing checked and pour a can of Seafoam Motor Tune in one tank of gas to help remove carbon buildup. Can be purchased at most Auto Parts stores. It may take more than one application. Follow directions on the can. I take it you have a petrol engine. Pinging or pre-ignition as it is known is caused by a few things. Over advanced ignition timing , running on the incorrect octane fuel and a lean mixture. Have the timing checked and an exhaust gas analyser will be able to let you know what the mixture is like.

I'm not real sure about the '92 model truck, but on my '98 tacoma there are 2 plugs directly on the transmission; one up high on one side and the other down low on the other side. I remove the lower plug to drain it and re-install it. After removing the higher plug I fill it with the recommended fluid until it begins to drain out of the upper hole. The transmission is only about half full when this occurs.

The most usual cause of steering problems looseness include bad or worn worn tie rod ends, a worn idler arm or center link, a worn steering gear or a bad or very worn steering rack.The steering wheel should not have much more than a quarter inch of play or less. More play means something is defect or loose and needs to be repaired. The inner and outer tie rod ends should not be loose. Bad or worn tie rod ends are dangerous, if one breaks the you will lose steering control. Worn tie rod ends will also cause much unnecessary wear of the tires. Refer to a manual for the specifics of the play allowed in the steering system for each part. On conventional steering gear boxes, there's an adjustment screw that can be turned to take the slack or looseness out. Loose and worn wheel bearings can also make the steering problematic, heavy or loose. Be careful to add grease and oil to the important parts as required.

no the Toyota pickups do not have fuel light.

On a 89 yota pickup there are only two connections made above the tank. One is the fuel pump hookup pretty dang sure all 89's have a blue for hot and a yellow/black for ground. The other is a hookup for the fuel level indicator. There are a couple more wires that are in the same harness and they control the tail lights but they are easy to identify as they don't connect anywhere to the tank, they just follow the frame rail to the rear of the truck. For a cheap, basic and easy to understand wiring guide I would recommend a 'haynes' or 'chilton' service manual avaliable at any auto parts store. You can also check http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/87-4Runner/toyota_truck_and_4runner_88.pdf for a complete Factory Service Manual, but these can be difficult to understand and technical. All this is taking into consideration that you have a 22re fuel injected. Hope this helps

Yes, just drive a little slower. Also be sure your transmission has clean fluid and is full. I would not tow anymore then about 3000lbs.

Could be any number of things, from an open gas cap to a short in the ignition system, etc. Take the truck to someone who can scan the code.

the front should be wahever the back is. count them on the ring gear then count the pinoin and devide that and it will give you the gear ratio

Go to the parts store and get a spark plug thread insert kit. Be sure to match up the right threads to your spark plugs.

If the vehicle has an automatic transmission, it will have a dipstick. Manual transmissions do not have a dipstick.
