Toyota does have a diesel truck in Japan and Europe but they can't bring it over here because the emission controls are so strict in the US. it's also a smaller truck so it's not a full size like the Ford Superduty or the Chevy and Dodge heavydutys. The reason they have not developed one they could sell over here is because it is not financially justified. the would need to sell tens of thousands to make it worth it to them. and with competitors like the Ford and Chevy, 2 of the best selling work horses in the world, they have chose to not get into the this fight of Detroit steel. But there are always rumors of Toyota changing their mind and developing one. Just don't hold your breath and believe it when you see it.

After removing the side bolt stick your pinkie finger in the hole and feel for the level of fluid. The manual states that the optimum level of fluid should be at about 5mm below the opening that your finger is in.
Old fluid will be dark brown and cloudy looking. New fluid is a nice clear brown like new oil.
