What was ROTC officer's training at Fort Monmouth like in 1964?

Ft. Momouth New Jersey in 1964 was a modern, well taken care of base. It had a Co. of Wacs, as you entered the base and these women worked as instructors, secretarys, and staff at the large hospital.

A company of M.Ps manned the gates and patrolled the base which was filled with students of several of the differant signal schools as well as the instructors training courses. The large parade field was used for inspections and ceremonys and was policed several times a day.

Most of the building were modern , with the exception of the photo section of the signal school which was in the old style 2 story wooden barracks. Several differant MOS were taught here to the army photographers that worked in intelligence, aerial photos, movies as well as the passport offices around the world. Most of the film that you see about Vietnam, was taken by a man or woman that was trained at ft. monmouth.

Altho the training and discipline were strict, the days off were spent at the nearby beaches and resorts, and charter fishing was always available.

What are Raiders in the ROTC?

There are usually 3 (well 4 if you count Color Guard separate from drill) teams in the JROTC program. The Raider team is the more physical of the 3. The Raider team does a group run (2-3miles), push-ups and sit-ups (how many you can do in 2minutes), an obstacle course, CCR (cross country rescue), and a rope bridge. It's difficult, but fun (well, in my opinion.)

Why did you enroll in Army Junior ROTC?

I have many reasons for enrolling in JROTC. JROTC is all about me. It i devoted to my developement as both a student and a person. Although JROTC is very demanding I enjoy the challenge and the discipline. It improve my studing and test taking abilities and help me better focus on academics. JROTC also looks good on your college transcript. I get to travel and meet people i wouldn't normally meet and they become like a family to you.

I agree with everything he said but also if your interested in the military JROTC will help you get a sneak preview on how the real military will be. Also if you want to be inlisted after high school it will almost guarentee you being accepted. JROTC is a great choice either way if you just want to become a better citizen or be involved in the military. I'm joining soon {next year} and I'm really excited. Person above me though what should i expect?

What does ROTC commit you to?

Generally, your commitment to the military is directly proportional with the number of years ROTC pays for your school. If you are awarded a full 4-year scholarship through ROTC, you will owe the military 4 years of active duty service.

What are some advantages of being in the ROTC stationed in the Philippines?

im sorry if this is not helpful Organizational & Command Structure The UP Manila ROTC Unit is an organization that actually has two faces: a military organization and an academic unit. It is, in itself, a military unit under the National Capital Region Regional Community Defense Group (NCRRCDG), while it is an academic unit within the UP Manila community, a special unit reporting directly to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (not passing through college-level units). Because of this, the ROTC unit has dual set of responsibilities - as a military training unit which trains cadets and trainees for the reserve force, and as a department of the University which teaches students. While this maybe the same (since the cadets are the students), the very concept of two "masters" sometimes makes reporting and functioning of responsibilities challenging if not outright conflicting. There are three main levels in the chain of command in ROTC. These are the following: * Headquarters or University Level - This is the level that is immediately above the ROTC Unit or the DMST. On these level are the NCR RCDG and UP Manila Administration. * Unit Level - This is the level of the ROTC Unit or the DMST. * Corps Level - This level is the level of the Corps of Cadets and Sponsors. The main organizational units in defining the organization and chain of command of the ROTC unit are the following: * UP Manila Administration (via Office of Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, or OVCAA) * NCR RCDG (through 1302nd Community Defense Center) * DMST, or the ROTC unit itself * The Tactics Group * The Corps of Cadets and Corps of Sponsors The Department of the Military Science and Tactics - the University unit which administers the ROTC program in the University - is a special unit that reports directly to the Chancellor through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Unlike any regular department, the DMST is not under any college-level unit (e.g., the Department of Physical Education is under the College of Arts and Sciences). Part of the reason is that its student base is from all colleges. Another reason is for its special needs and functions in carrying out its University- and Army-laden responsibilities. Like any unit of the University, the DMST/ROTC has the following broad responsibilities: * Teaching * Research * Extension Services

What are all the teaching majors in college?

There are your basics - elementary education, and secondary education - so you need to decide which age you work with best. THEN - do you like History/Sociology, Science, Math, English, Physical Education, Music, Business, Shop classes - wood or metal working, Art, or Special Education programs? I have had my Special Ed certificate since I graduated and it has been very helpful for me getting into larger districts. Another consideration is to have a reading endorsement. There have been special reading programs set up for students to improve school testing scores - this would be another option if you are serious about teaching that would help you get into larger programs.

Answer: I don't think it's possible to keep a nose-job a secret, unless of course, they're blind. Anyone will see the difference after a nose-job, even if it's just a small difference, like they all are, except Michael Jackson's. However, I think you can arrange to get a nose-job without your family knowing. I did. Just don't tell them. I think the cosmetic surgeon and his employees will respect your privacy, and if they phone your house regarding an appointment or anything, I think they will keep it a secret from your family and everyone, but ask the surgeon just to be sure. I had a nose-job in 1984, 23 years ago, when I was 24. As I recall, my family only learned about my nose-job when I arrived home in a taxi. Of course they were disappointed that I got one. They thought I don't need it, that I looked good enough before. But this was just the opinions of parents. What do they know? I believe I had "the looks that only a mother could love." I only learned some time later that some people can die during surgery. But I've never heard of anyone dying from a nose-job. Maybe that's why my parents disapproved of my nose job.
