If same as later models then open drivers door, remove fuse box cover on end of dashboard (where dashboard meets door) remove alarm fuse, diagram on cover will tell which one...hope this helps.

The flat rate time on that job is about 2 hours, depending on where you are the rate of a labor hour will vary. It will be more if you go to dealer than an independent garage and Volvo parts are very expensive. The fuel pump can be 100 something and if they sell you an entire sending unit that may double or triple the cost of parts then add the 2 hours of labor to get an approximate idea of the cost of repair.

The main hazard switch also contains the flasher relay.

"s" for sport "e" for economy and "w" for winter depending on how you want the transmission to shift for the type of driving you do.

Sounds like the head gasket has gone. either get it fixed quick before the head worps or flush it out with rad flush then add K seal to the collant. this should fix it if the head is not to damaged. The best thing is to simply get the Head gasket fixed.

Just contact your local dealer with the original registration and some proof of ownership and they will provide the key ....some dealers may charge for this service ...others do not .

Try This. It worked for me.

with the ignition switched on

press the read button on the end of the stalk then press fog light switch twice this will put you in "in vehicle" diagnostics mode

in the messages pane scroll though all the checks by pressing the read button til you get to the end

The 2000 year model does not have a read button on the end of the stalk. That was not brought into production until the 2001 V70

If the door won't open from the outside when you press the handle, you need to take apart the interior part of the door and the mechanism. There is a barrel that slides in a groove that has jumped out causing the door to not open from the outside. If you have auto locks they will not work either. Only opening the door from the inside will work since that pushed the lock from another position. Hope that helps.

The Auo Box on my V70 T5 has just cost $5000 NSD+ GST at Jaspers on the Northshore Auckland. Volvo wanted $6500 + GST. Jaspers had an XC70 in and he said" I got of lightly compared to XC owner, they needed a transfer case and Auto box! Sorry cut your losses and get rid, used Volvo's are rubbish, reading this New ones aren't much better! Good Luck!

I am having this done right now but on a 2000 XC v70 turbo wagon...the part alone costs around 400-450 dollars and the labor as you all know can vary widely but after speaking with the repair shop we were able to work it out for 575 including labor. This is a VERY good price as the other shops that i brought it to for estimates all told me 625+ so i am very happy. Just for a reference the car has slightly above 110,000miles and I live in CT....the highest estimate i got was for 750. Hope this helps.
