You will have to take the ignition key lock out of the steering column, then get a dremel with a small grinder bit. looking at the lock with the key still in you will see two small tabs which come together when the key is in the start position. Take the dremel and grind half off from both tabs as so the key will turn a bit further. sometimes the key doesn't turn far enough to make a complete connection but will still light up. I had the same problem when I replaced the key lock in my 74 Super Beetle and this worked very well. Be careful not to grind off too much or you will have to buy another one. Good Luck

Have you had a service department check it out? 1. Could just be low on coolant is your light on? I know that's kind of a silly question sometimes the lights just burn out. You could be low on coolant with air in your system. IF you ever ran low on coolant and you filled it you could have gotten air in your system. The light may not be on now because of that. 2. Your thermostat could be sticking. 3. Fans may not be working causing your car to cool down when you start moving with air passing through it. Do you have a problem with overheating in the summer at all?

first take of the cover if you have one it will be round or a sideways H, take out the bolts that are holding the horn on, then take the bolts out that are holding the steering wheel in place.

The 2.5 beetle takes normal gasoline and the turbo takes diesel.

You need to change the light bulb, the high and low beam on some vehicles are contained in a single bulb. or you could have a bad connection on just that one light
