I have been in the Well/Pump business for over 40 years. I have never seen a shallow well jet pump that was over 1.5hp. They make a few deep well jets that are two horse and lots of centrifugals, but not the jets in 2hp.

If you were to find one, it would probably be sold in a big box store and would be highly overrated.

We have a well with a pressure pump. The water pressure is low all through the house and the water pressure pump is reading low. What is causing this. Can we fix it ourselves. Pump is only 7yrs old.?

You just need to adjust the pressure switch on the pump to your desired pressure...typically around 50 psi. Sometimes the springs in the pressure switch get old, and just need tightening.

What are the steps in converting deep well water pump to shallow well water pump?

A deep well submersible pump can be simply placed into a shallow well and it will work. These pumps actually pump water directly and do not rely on suction. Simply cut your tube to desired length and place the deep pump in the shallow well. -NOTE- this does NOT work the other way - a shallow or jet pump is just that and can never work in a deep well.

How can you turn hot water temperature down with no thermostat?

There has to be a way to turn down the temperature somewhere on your water heater. There is either a dial on a manual control or up and down arrows on an eletronic one.

Should the water heater be turned off if the water is shut off at the meter?

It May Be A Good Idea To Turn It Off As Long As It Remains Near Full It Would Be OK. Just Incase Turn It Off. That Way The Top Element Will Not Be In Open Air( Not Covered With Water ). Which Will Cause It To Burn Out. Also When Water Is Turned Back On. Turn On The Hotwater & Let It Run To Remove Any Air That Might Be Trapped In Tank. Then Turn It Back On.

Why do drains make noise when the water is going down?

Drains make noise when the water is going down because the water hits the drain as the water goes down. The water also is going down at a rapid pace, that makes the same sound as a waterfall. When the water is falling to the direct drain, the water beats on the drain.

How can you trace a well pump cap buried in the ground?

I've had to do this occasionally and the only practical way is to dig up the pipe at house where it goes to the well then follow the direction, digging every 8-10 feet to find it. There is machinery to follow water pipes underground, but I don't think you can rent them.

Why does your shower valve rattle when some one shuts off the cold water somewhere else in the house?

Hammering pipes is the result of inertia when moving water causes the pipes to move when a valve is suddenly turned off. Use an anti-hammer device. You can purchase one at most home centers.

How do you drain water logged well pump for house?

OK,I assume that your pump needs to be removed from the well and the pump and water line is full of water and heavy.I had the same problem and sorry to say there is no easy way. What you need to do is get a good grip on the water line leading into the well. You may have a nylon rope attached to the pump itself, dont pull on this it may break.Get a few of your stronger friends to pull up on the water line, pull together it will be heavy, until the pump is above the water level in the well. This will allow the water in the pump and the water line to drain out. Then it should come out with little effort.
