How are winds produced in nature?
Winds are produced in nature through the movement of air masses with different temperatures and pressures. As the air heats up or cools down, it expands or contracts, creating differences in pressure that lead to the movement of air. Additionally, the rotation of the Earth contributes to the creation of wind patterns.
Do wind turbines take up very much space?
A wind turbine takes up about 120 square meters including the base and the access road (on average). This is about 10% of a hectare or 25% of an acre. A wind farm of multiple wind turbines takes up about 0.01% of the land it's on. The rest of the land is available for pretty much up all of the uses it had before wind turbines were erected including growing crops, hunting grouse, hiking, snowmobiling or just sitting there.
As a wind turbine generates $5000 to $8000 per year, and most acres have lower revenue than this, it's a great revenue stream for farmers aka multi-revenue stream, small-business owners. And the other 75% of the acre can be used to grow crops.
Can you let rotate magnets by themselves to generate electricity?
A magnet rotating inside a coil of wire will induce a current in the wire. Disassemble a bicycle generator and that is what you will find inside, a magnet attached to the input axle surrounded by a coil. The current generated will be alternating current because the magnetic field reverses every 1/2 rotation. Frequency will depend on the speed of the input axle, which is of course dependent on the speed of the bicycle itself.
How do they move a boat with only wind power?
The wind power pushes the boat with the different sails that can be changed by the direction of the wind and with the help of the rudder or even shifting body weight.
Normally a zig zag route maneuvers helps in pushing the boat forward.
Which better wind farming or wind turbines why?
They are both the same. A wind farm is made up of several wind turbines. So wind farming would be best because it could create a great amount of energy if enough turbines were used.
Actually these systems produce virtually no energy. They are great political units though.
A wind turbine is rated for winds of 28 mph. Almost impossible average. The average runs closer to 14 mph. This produces 10% of the rated power claimed by the utilities. The 10% rated power that is generated is variable as the wind blows faster and slower throughout the day. Fossil fuel plants take long periods to get up and running so these plants are left running while we get power from the wind.
Net result is zero savings, no fossil fuel plant shutdowns and a small increase in overall cO2 produced (manufacturer and maintenance of turbine). Throw in the thousands of birds and bats killed by them they make no sense.
Why is the economic storage of electrical energy so important?
It is important to store electrical energy just as it is important to store any type of energy. Stored energy can be used as opposed to wasting it and therefore fewer resources are needed to generate new energy. Storing Electrical Energy is not as obvious as you would think. Batteries are one way to store it, but this requires a lot a space, and resources to install, & maintain. Batteries have a limited amount of storage capability. Some industries will pump large amounts of water to large storage tanks during off-peak hours* and then release this water to power hydro generating systems to produce electricity for peak* production hours. Some types of Solar generation will use the sunlight to heat tubes of oil. The heated oil is then transferred to a typical steam turbine generator. This process can only run actively when there is sunlight present. The heated water can be stored for short periods of time for use when sunlight isn't present or additional demand is needed. *Peak: Usually during the day when the demand for electricity is at its highest. Power Co.'s will charge industrial customers more for electricity during these periods. -Don't forget to recommend Kevlarster if you like this answer!

What are facts about the wind turbine?
Apparently Wind Turbines can make Bat's lungs explode!
In the united states they kill up to 50 golden eagles each year!
From all that I have read it seems the primary opposition is from land owners and scenic lovers that say big wind turbines will ruin the scenery. Land owners say the ruined scenery will reduce the value of their property. Scenic lovers just don't want man made objects in their view.
Hydroelectric, tidal and wind are all renewable sources of electrical enengy.
Around £9-11million Maximum
Enercon E-126 costs £26-30million
How much electricity do wind turbines produce?
A wind turbine can produce electricity, also called ( clean electricity). The amount of electricity varies about the seize of the turbine. The scientific word for electricity is also MG ( megawatts).Wind turbines can also produce some thing else. WATER ! If the wind trubine is connected to the pipe lines, then the wind flow pushes the water in the pipes to your house. A regular wind turbine can be like this:
Wind energy represents nearly 5% of the US electrical generation and is targeted to reach 20% in the future. Wind turbine output need to be gathered, stepped-up to transmission levels and passed across interconnected power grids to the end users. Wind Turbine Step-Up Transformers play a critical part in this process.
Most wind systems produce roughly 7 to 8% of what they are rated to produce. This is because of the science has not yet developed to the point where they produce more energy then they take to create. A typical wind turbine is rated for a constant 28 mph wind. (A very rare event). If the wind gust above this amount, the wind system is forced to shutdown. If the wind blows at 14 mph average, we see less then 10% rated. Because of this, fossil fuel plants run in the background and produce CO2 as before, but are not considered to be producing any pollution for power.
A typical 1 MWh system will produce about 80,000 KWh of actual power when operating. They also require significant maintenance which further restricts their usefulness. Larger systems are even less efficient.
Where is Water pump four winds chateau sport?
We just purchased a new Four Winds Chateau sport, the older models have storage under neath the Queen bed. My husband wanted to know what was under the bed in the new models because the board is screwed down. Well under the bed was the water pump and holding tank. Hope this helps to answer your question.
