This is a question that's basically a personal preference issue. Obviously keeping a computer on all day will use more electricity, but starting and stopping a computer all the time can wear out components earlier. Try to aim for a trade off on this, if your not going to be using the computer for awhile, shut it down. If other people (or you) are likely to be on it soon, keep it running. It's called disk defragmenter. Windows has an in built disk defragmenter which I haven't found to be that good. Lot of times you would find that it starts from 0%. Primarily it is due to other programs running and accessing the disk.

yes. also, look at the paperwork when you bought the software or computer and look at the system requirements for vista. usually, even a standard xp holds a vista.

The shell is made up of several subsystems that all operate in user mode. The kernel, or core, of the OS is responsible for interacting with hardware. It has more power to communicate with hardware devices than the shell has, and operates in kernel mode.

You just need to choose what sort of things to put into what folder and organise them in a way which makes them easy to find, e.g. you might have a folder for work related files, then have folders inside that folder to divide your work into different things you might be working on, then within one of those folders you might have more folders for different types of relevant information or for different types of file or for different dates.

How complex the system needs to be depends on how many files you have and what you need them for. I'm a student so I have a folder for Uni stuff, which has more folders in it for different types of software I need to use for my course and to separate different modules. Depending on your needs you might just want a load of folders for different general subjects in "my documents" or another master folder, or you might need 4 or 5 levels to organise your files properly.

1.you can go into my computer under the Removable Disk icon rightclick>format>then under the file system drop-down menu pick the file type (FAT,FAT32,NTFS) and then hit start at the bottom

2.If that don't work, then you might have accidentally deleted the partition, yes they do have them, you can simply stick a windows CD in while the flash drive is connected and reboot, the CD will run. go through its process until you come to the partition menu, the usb drive will be listed as a second drive, but ofcoarse smaller then your computers drive. (*WARNING* this will completely clear all data from the device or your hard drive so make sure you select the right one) Delete the existing partition then select C to create a new one. once your done creating a new partition press F3 and abort the rest, if you don't it will install windows. NOTE under the section saying file type, it will still say RAW when all is done.

reboot and then run threw my above method 1. to format the removable disk and when its complete you will be set as what ever type you choose from the drop-down menu.

This is what worked for me on several occasions however it always results in complete data loss. If anyone knows a better way please post, I would be extremely grateful.
