Can wood fall apart when soaked?
Yes. The weight of the water, and or other objects can cause the wood to rot and eventually fall apart.
In general, most wood will just absorb the water and then dry out naturally without falling apart.
Why is Canadian maple better then Chinese maple when making skateboard decks?
I don't know about the making process, but Canadian maple ends up in much higher durability, better balance between strength and flexibility, inevitably ending up in better pop. Having said that, many today's brands uses Chinese maple, however I'd suggest to purchase Canadian maple decks, since price difference is very little.

What are facts about softwood you could know?
Softwood comes from conifers and most of these trees have spickey leaves. Some soft woods are easy to cut and work with, and soft wood is cheaper than hard wood! Softwood also grows quickly.
When is the best time to carve a pumpkin?
You should carve a pumpkin 1 or 2 days before Halloween. If you carve it too early, the pumpkin will start to rot/decay. Even better, carve it on the day of Halloween so you can light it before you go trick or treating. We usually carve at least two or three per season. We carve a couple earlier in October so we can always have one on the porch. We also love roasted pumpkin seeds! Then, we carve our last one the night before Halloween, so we can have a fresh one on the porch when trick-or-treaters come.
