How can you tell if you are ready for labor and dilivery?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It is painful and your waters burst. Also, you might see your mucus plug come out You will experience intermitent cramping similar to period cramps they will come & go & eventually get worse & closer together, or you may have back labor which would be a dull ache in your lower back that continues to get more intense. You may lose your mucous plug, you might have a "bloody show", your water may break, but not always! You may experience a fullness or achey sensation in your pelvic floor or rectal pressure, like you have to have a bowel movement, but it just doesn't seem to go away. Just remember to stay calm, relax & keep moving around it will help your labor go faster....you can also check out my post on techniques to make giving birth easier.....best of luck to you! ;)

Is it normal for a dog to bleed three weeks after giving birth to a litter of seven puppies?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

it might just be her period!! dont panic x

Answer:It depends; you don't say whether the puppies survived.

If the pups died and the mother "dried up," she could possibly go into heat again.

If they survived and she's still nursing them, no, it isn't normal. Female dogs don't go into heat while they're lactating, so it can't be her "period" under those circumstances. You should contact a vet.

How many babies can a spider give birth to?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Depending on species, at least 100 and usually many more, as many as 3000 or more in a single season. The larger spiders have comparatively fewer eggs, and fewer survive to adulthood.

A female wolf spider will carry around her egg sac with 100 to 300 eggs, and the young will clamber over her to ride along when they hatch. But within a few days they are off on their own.

My rabbit is giving birth and one was born dead how long does it last and what to do if it happens again massage them to breathe?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Let mom take care of her babies! If one is born dead, she'll know what to do. Don't massage the kits, try not to touch them at all. Consult a vet if you'd really like to. But just sit back, don't bother her or the kits, and just let Nature take course.

What to feed a mother dog after giving birth to puppies?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Our dog (golden retriever) had puppies and she was the best mother ever. She knew how to tell the puppies no with out beingaggressive let your dog put the puppies in their place but don't let her be aggressive mother dogs have a deep growl that the puppies know which means to stop. let her get after them but tell her to be easy, she will more than likely know her limits with her owner. If she does get mean tell her that it's a no no, but other than that the mother should know how to do it all herself.

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

almost all breeds and types of dogs will walk straight after birth bt if she doesnt want to then don't worry she just needs some time to relax and spend some time with her pups.

my dog gave birth while standing up anyway because it was easier for her

i hope i kelped

..............................................................................................................................

The Mommy will bea able to walk even during her labor, betwen puppies sometimes she will go and drink some water, but its better if you actually assist on that, on getting her some water after she takes care of each puppy

Puppies are will be able to begin to open their eyes, their ears, and to stand up at 14 days, but until 3 weeks they start acting like playful puppies, By 5 weeks they should be good to start feeding them some 1 ounze of ( I recomend) Royal canin Mini canine Baby dog 30 this food is specifically for wining to 8 week pupps, it is extremely important to be very careful int his phase of their life because they are very vulnerable to the food change, you want to make sure that :

AT 2 weeks they should be taken to the vet to get an anti- parasite

1. they only eat 1 ounze each pupp for a week (the rest they will get it from their mommy) But don't let them eat more because they can get very bad health conditions from eating too much food ( like pancreas conditions, or liver problems) if the second week give them 2 ounzes a day ( 1 ounze a time like 1 ounze morning, 1 ounze at night)

2. you don't feed them the food straight from the pack, you use a blender, put the dry food with a little water and blend it until you have a human baby food consistency so that the pups don't get it stucked.

WARNING: Do not feed pups food that you put on the blender earlier today or yesterday because it collects bacteria, prepare the food every time you are to feed the little puppies

3. By 8 weeks you begging mixing for about 2 weeks half the royal canin 30 (weaning pups food) with the new puppy food they will be eating ultil 12 months. Now you will be feeding these babies 3 times a day. By now the puppies should have all their teeth so the blending will no longer be necessary.

Note: by 6 weeks puppies should have gotten their first vaccine

The first 3 months of your puppies life are crucial, during this time they go through a lot of physical change and need to get all their first vaccines on time.

How do you know when your mare is in labor?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

When the mare is about ready to foal, she gets really stringy "wax" coming out of her teats. This is called waxing. You have to be really careful though because sometimes it can be hard to see the wax because it is in little beads. Most of the time however, it is really stringy and easily seen. Also just before they foal they start sweating and wil pace around their stall or where ever they are. They may start to dig to. When you see a horse start to do this immediatelly stay where you are and if you aren't experienced get someone who is out there as soon as possible in case of complications.
