Honduras can get hurricanes. A hurricane is the named used for what are called typhoons in parts of Asia. So Honduras gets them, but they use the word hurricane instead of typhoon.

The war was about to break out before the particular incident. The condition was very critical between the two countries before this event happened.

In 1950's and 60's, when El Salvador got intensely populated especially those areas that were near Honduras. The people thus started to move towards the less populated lands of Honduras. In 1960's era, Honduras military forces were ordered to drive the illegal strangers out of the country forcefully which lead to an intense massacre. El Salvador government took notice of this and tension began to build between the two countries. At San Salvador in 1969, a FIFA World cup match was being played when situation became worse because of the conflict between El Salvador and Honduras audience. The condition go on becoming more and more worse and at last El Salvador declared against Honduras on 14th July, 1969. At the end of the war, 10,000 people were killed and about 30,000 were injured and disabled.

Canna Lilies are great, lemons, mangos, almost any flowering plant that grows nice as a house plant here in the U.S.will grow nice down there, because they dont freese. Plumbegos, Esparanzas together will be pretty.

The wrestling style used by the Aztecs, is the same wrestling style used by all indigenous tribes of Central America, and in ancient times before the Spanish invasion, southern Mexico, Guatemala, and the whole western half of Honduras was the same cultural sphere. In fact the Lenca language is a very close cousin to Nahuatl. If any martial art came from Honduras, it would be the wrestling style also practiced by the Maya and Aztecs.

The most renowned Honduran painter is Jose Antonio Velásquez. José Antonio Velasquez was part of the boom of painters in Honduras during the 60's and 70's becoming, perhaps, one of the worldwide known Honduran painters. His style included painting landscapes of a small village named San Antonio de Oriente that made him famous. He is part of the "naif" movement. Because of his tender view of Honduran life, he created motifs such as The Typical Village Priest and The Dog Wandering Down the Cobblestone Roads. He was a pioneer in Honduran rural life paintings.
