What are west Virginia coal mining towns?
There are many towns with coal mines in it. These communities typically had one or more coal mining companies as their principal employer. During the first half of the 20th century, many towns were built from scratch by the mine operators to house their labor force. Homes were rented to the miners and many companies even provided a company owned store for the miner's families to purchase their home supplies and tools for the miners, often at inflated prices.
Many miners were paid whole or partially in script which was only redeemable at the company store. This practice led to a great deal of dissatisfaction by the miners, as they were economically locked to the company as a whole. Today, coal miners are regular salaried or hourly employees that are paid no different than any other employee in America. Company stores quickly went out of business once the miners had real currency to shop at any store they pleased.
While many mining communities became ghost towns when the mines eventually closed, many still exist as companies often sold their homes to the miners as the particular mining operation dissolved. Residents are often still strongly associated with coal mining and commute to other mines as anyone else may commute to work. Example of some of the smaller mine communities could include Powellton, Matewan and Nuttalburgh (ghost town).
Larger mining towns also formed to become regional economic centers. While the mining based economy served as their base, the are also diversified into banking, medical, professional services and other economic activities. Their general economic well being is still closely linked to mining and their overall economic well being rose or fell as per larger economic forces that drive the mining industry. Many are county seats. Example communities include Beckley, Oak Hill, Logan, Bluefield and Welch.
This is the town of Kalgoorlie, also known as Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

How much money are mineral rights worth in Wyoming?
The value of mineral rights is complicated. It depends on the location of the mineral rights in relation to proven wells or mines. Also, oil and gas prices go up and down, so the value of the mineral rights will change.

Why did Bob Hawke ban mining in Antarctica?
No country is permitted to mine in Antarctica. It was never an option for Australia's Prime Minister, Bob hawke, to permit mining in Antarctica.
Mining has never been undertaken in Antarctica, because it is recognised that the Antarctic is the only remaining pristine place on Earth - and even that reputation is under threat, with the various scientific research stations which operate on the continent.
The Madrid Protocol, which bans mining in Antarctica, is part of the Antarctic Treaty; it was signed in 1991 by the parties that signed the Antarctic Treaty. It is due for review in 2041.
Why is agriculture important in the United Arab Emirates?
Agriculture is important in the UAE in order subsidise the amount of imports the country has. More than 95% of the UAE's food is imported, making the country heavily reliant on foreign food sources.
Unfortunately less than 2% of the country is arable, so farming is near nonexistent with the exception of a thriving date industry.
There are a number of programs and subsidies in place to try and stimulate agriculture, however the harsh climate negates almost every effort at sustainable, viable agriculture.
What caused the mine San Jose to colapse in Chile?
It was caused by rock explosions, several hundreds of metres underground.
This rock are under stress which remain balanced if that natural balance is unaltered. When materials from inside the mine are extracted that balance is destroyed and if proper measures aren't taken, that stress may produce rock explosions.
The safety measures in the mine were, at least, mediocre. More than 80 accidents had happen before 2010. It was the main reason which it was closed in 2007, but it was re-opened in 2008.
Where can you find the best data mining company?
There is a really great data mining company that I have heard of called TunedIT.
I'm sending you general information about them!:)
TunedIT - Contest in place of exam
Traditional system of evaluation of credited tasks for students will soon become outdated. TunedIT created the contest system and platform, which enables students getting credits just from home. The new system will be beneficial both for students and for professors.
It seems that getting credits for laboratory classes does not need to be boring again. Students of computer science have to solve several assignments in their laboratory classes, which are then taken into account by their tutors when giving final grades. Usually, a student, in order to get credit has to write a program or elaborate an algorithm. It applies in particular to such lessons as "artificial intelligence", "data mining" or "self-learning systems". Generally, in the framework of these subjects, a lecturer requires from his or her students to work out an algorithm for a given problem (data set).
Most frequently, in Polish universities, as far as computer science students are concerned, they have approximately one month to prepare such algorithm. When they finish, they send it to professor in charge of laboratory classes for evaluation.
Competitions organized on TunedIT platform constitute an alternative for students' vis-à-vis traditional way of crediting. These competitions encompass identical assignments but the participants send their solutions over Internet to special Web page established for the needs of contest. Their works are immediately tested and automatically evaluated. What even more important, every student can see his or her result, instantly compare a quality of the solution with others and still have a chance for improvement. Such model of crediting may become an option for student, thus eliminating the traditional one. From didactic point of view, contests organized by TunedIT may have substantial influence upon development of students' skills because they will force the participants to actively search for the best possible solution and to learn from one's own mistakes.
Still, the TunedIT platform specializing, among others, in organization of competitions for computer science students, has in fact more functionalities. In fact, one can arrange any type of competition with a use of this particular solution. - We are able to organize practically any type of data mining assignments - says Marcin Wojnarski, the founder of TunedIT- Contest platform TunedIT is very comprehensive and gives this opportunity to organize competitions in many different fields. In fact, we can trigger on it all kinds of assignments in 'data mining', but also in other fields, like data compression.
The very first competition for students to get credits for a given assignment was arranged in May 2009. This contest was organized for the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics in the University of Warsaw. Use of this platform for organization of contests for students has a lot of advantages, and university circles in Poland and abroad have become more and more interested in this very solution.
TunedIT is an international service. Our contest platform may be used in any place of the world: USA, Germany, Great Britain, not excluding even more exotic places where many young IT specialists are educated, like in India and China. - explains Wojnarski - Our users come from a dozen of countries, among others from the USA, England, India, China, Canada, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Iran and Japan. In the scientific rivalry organized recently in TunedIT, which terminated in the end of February, triumphed the teams from China, Australia, Croatia and Japan.
One of the trumps of TunedIT platform is a complete automation of assignment evaluation system that saves time for both students and teachers. TunedIT platform offers large-scale integration between its users what contributes to competition in pursuance of the best results. Founders of this service assure that only the users have access to contest results. Data is protected by access code known solely to the participants. Hence, the inventors of TunedIT platform established the system, which saves time and provides for completely objective evaluation of tasks, thus producing fair results. These advantages may surely stimulate greater interest in this platform not only in Poland but also in the world.

Are there tours of the Detroit salt mines?
No. The last regular tours ended in 1986. There has been one tour in 2007 held especially for the Detroit Geologist Society. It appears the reason the current ownership does not provide tours is for liability reasons.
Having attended one of the last tours then let me tell you it is nothing too special. If you want to simulate it go out and buy some rock salt, sit in a dark room and then lick the salt...
Should Australia stop mining and selling uranium?
Stop for the selling; don't stop mining.
Stop selling, not mining
What are data mining and predictive modeling?
Data mining refers to the study of data (usually by software without human intervention) that is generated by user behavious on the internet. For example, a visit to amazon.com and a look at books on anthropology will probably trigger amazon's software to flag one as someone interested in anthropolgy. This data is then used across the user's net experience on sites like Facebook, Game sites, etc., to show the user ads related to resources on anthropology. This is done through the use of "cookies" that are placed on the user's computer that can then be read by sites that partner with the cookie-placing site to show relevant ads.
While data mining is the first step in collecting user data, showing ads related to what the user was browsing can be redundant. Going by the previous example, if a user has already bought a book on basic anthropology, it makes little sense to show ads for the very same book. Predictive modeling goes a step or two further. Given that the user has already bought a book on basic anthropology, predictive modeling seeks to predict what the user will most likely need next and then to show ads for those products or services.
Predictive modeling uses much more of the data mined, such as the user's age, gender, known experience in the field, other related interests, etc., to build a model to predict future needs and to thus show ads tailored to those needs.

What are mining rights in Mexico?
You require a specific land grant issued by the government of Mexico. There should be no problem, as most mining operations in Mexico are carried by Canadian, English as well as some American companies.
How many underground mines are there in Australia?
There are too many underground mines to list. Australia is very rich in mining resources.
What is the Importance of mining?
Mining
is an important industry inPakistan
. Pakistan has deposits of several minerals including coal, copper, gold, chromite, mineral salt, bauxite and several other minerals. There are also a variety of precious and semi-precious minerals that are also mined. These include peridot, aquamarine, topaz, ruby, emerald, rare-earth minerals bastnaesite and xenotime, sphene, tourmaline, and many varieties and types of quartz.
Hybrid mining techniquescombine certain aspects of surface and underground mining. Highwall mining is a hybrid technique used in combination with the surface mining of coal. In this technique, miners use special push beams or push carsto drive a drilling device called a cutterhead into the wall of a previously mined furrow. The mined coal is transferred from the cutterhead for recovery. This creates a tunnel as wide as the cutterhead that can reach more than 1000 feet (300 meters) long. Experts consider highwall mining a hybrid technique because although the coal is mined from underground, no workers enter the underground area.
Why are children victims of land mines?
They don't often understand the dangers and don't know to stay away from areas that have been mined. Left over mines are often left were they were placed in fields that become areas that children take animals to graze in or where they play.
Since there's not much room for the question, I'm assuming you have one of two issues: 1. You can't imagine that you do anything wrong, so it's tough to be critical of yourself (or you don't want to admit to anything, anyway.) OR 2. You feel like a failure and can't think of much that is positive to say. Ironically, the answer is about the same...you have to use language which takes your negatives and finds the positive components in them. Here are some examples: I am a slow worker. Why? Because I take time to do the job right the first time rather than speed through and make 25 corrections at the end. So my evaluation is, I'm a careful and analytical worker. I tend to joke around and be very social with my co-workers, and some companies might perceive that as a waste of time. So I state, honestly, that I believe in the teamwork concept and building good teamwork through good morale. Your weaknesses often have positive side effects just as your strengths may have a downside: I am the best sales person in the business. I do this by aggressively taking sales from my fellow workers. Some might say I steal them. I worked several months to complete a complicated project successfully. It may have been to the exclusion of other duties that I was expected to handle, or at the cost of relationships within my profession or even my family. Hope this is helpful. (I used to hire and evaluate people in management positions, and I just spent 6 months looking for a job.)
