Is the blade of the hibiscus leaf thin or flat?

The blade of a hibiscus leaf is typically thin rather than flat. It is usually smooth and flexible, with a pointed tip and smooth edges.

What is the Name of the tissue in which sugar produced in photosynthesis is carried to the parts of the plant?

The tissue responsible for transporting sugar produced in photosynthesis is called phloem. Phloem is a vascular tissue that serves as the plant's circulatory system, moving sugars and other nutrients throughout the plant.

What are the process of photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis happens when a plant or an Autotroph uses sunlight as energy to make food. This happens when the sunlight is absorbed by the green leaves on the plant. The leaves absorb the light because they have chlorophyll which is a green pigment in the cell's chloroplast that absorbs light and it is also what makes the plant green. Other than sunlight coming into the plant, Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Water (H2O) come into the plant as well. Carbon Dioxide comes into the plant through the Stomata, a small opening on the undersides of the leaves and water comes into the plant through the roots. The Carbon Dioxide then turns into Oxygen (O2) and the Water turns into Glucose (C6H12O6) which is a type of Sugar.

With the Glucose that was made in Photosynthesis, the plant will use it to turn it into energy. This action is called Respiration. Plants can store energy or release it. They release it when they use it and store it when they need it for later. When Heterotrophs eat Autotrophs, they gain energy from the energy that the Autotroph stored. Respiration releases Carbon Dioxide and Water.

Photosynthesis and Respiration are similar because they both have opposite formulas. Photosynthesis takes in CO2 and H2O and releases O2 and C6H12O6. Respiration takes in O2 and C6H12O6 and releases CO2 and H2O.

So as you know now that Respiration is when energy is made and you also know that the formula to make the energy requires oxygen but, there is a way of producing energy that does not need oxygen to make energy. This is called fermentation. In fermentation, each sugar molecule releases less energy than in respiration which is why fermentation takes much longer than respiration does. Fermentation does not require oxygen to make energy like respiration does. This is why alcohols such as wine take a very long time in their barrels, because they need to fermentate, hence the saying "this wine still needs to breathe a little" which means this wine needs to fermentate more, letting out energy, breathing, respiring (without using oxygen of course).

Hope this helps, it better hahha! :D

Of the four ways a plant uses the sugar it makes which is the only way that does not add material to the plant?

The plant uses the sugar it makes through respiration to produce energy for its cellular activities, which does not add material to the plant. Instead, it breaks down the sugar molecules to release energy for metabolism. The other ways plants use sugar include growth, storage in the form of starch, and building of cell walls.

Can the difference in ocean pressures be used to create energy?

Yes, the difference in ocean pressures can be used to generate energy through a technology called ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC). OTEC takes advantage of the temperature difference between warm surface water and cold deep water to drive a power cycle that can produce electricity.

What is the most important part of an engine?

Depending on the type of engine, piston, turbine, external, rotary, among others there are numerous components to an engine without which the engine will not function. For example a typical piston cylinder engine(from any car) will not work without any of the following components-piston, carburetor/fuel injection, con-rod, crankshaft, inlet/exhaust valves, camshaft, camchain/timing belt.

An engine is a complex device that requires many finely balanced components to work in harmony. But to pick the most important, it would probably be the crankshaft which is present in any type of engine in some shape or form.

What are the tools and materials needed in Fabric Printing?

Tools and materials needed for fabric printing include fabric, ink or dye, screens or stencils, a squeegee or roller for applying ink, a printing table or surface, and a heat source for setting the design. Additional items may include masking tape, emulsion, and a light source for screen exposure.

Where is carbon found in photosynthesis?

Carbon is found in carbon dioxide molecules, which are taken in by plants during the process of photosynthesis. The carbon from carbon dioxide is used to build organic molecules such as glucose, which store energy for the plant to use.

How to contribute to the well being and improve the quality of life of animals?

I volunteer for Pet Network in Canada. We try to change the laws against the cruelty to animals and 100% of all donations goes towards ALL pets, be it dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, etc. We sell artwork re dogs/cats (nice artwork), have Santa come around so your pet can have their picture taken with Santa and all proceeds go towards the animals and help the sick and injured ones. We have a special park we go too and bring cats and dogs so people can see how precious they are and we have a high adoption rate. That's a start. Then, if you want to take things further be at a higher level as an advocate to change the Cruelty to Animals Laws. They are very weak in the U.S. and Canada.

In Australia, there are various animal welfare agencies such as the RSPCA. One way to contribute is volunteering your time at this organisation. Also, you can make monetary donations or obtain a list of items they require ie blankets, dog toys, dog leashes, cat toys etc and donate towards that. Another way is to be personally observant and if you see pets being neglected or abused in any way, to report the incident. Another way is to always personally value your own pets in how you look after them. Always ensure they have fresh drinking water, and food in their bowls, have worming tablets, regular checkups to the vets for immunizations etc. You could become a wildlife warrior, refer to Australia Zoo website for that.

Are caladiums related to arrowhead plants?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Araceae The caladium is indeed related to the arrowhead (taro), as well as the philodendron, the dieffenbachia and the calla lily. The araceae are important plants in the ecology of rain forests, and lovely house plants as well.

Why is it said that all life depends on autotrophs?

because they are the ones able to harness free energy such as the sun and store it in sugars and other biological chemicals such as fats and proteins. other creature like us eat them to gain our energy so without them we would all starve.

Growing tea in Kentucky?

Kentucky is probably much too cold to grow the tea plant outdoors. You might be able to grow tea plants in a cold frame, or you could grow them in a greenhouse.

For comparison, coastal South Carolina and the milder coastal regions of Washington State both have commercial tea growing operations. The interior of the country, including Kentucky, usually has too extreme cold snaps for the plant. It can take a light frost but cannot handle prolonged cold.

How do you make beet kavas?

Beet Kvass

Makes 2 quarts

3 medium or 2 large organic beets, peeled

chopped up no smaller than 1 1/2 to 2 inch cubes

1/4 cup whey (you need to drain yogurt through a cheese cloth and the

yellowish clear liquid that you capture at the bottom is whey or make

it from scratch using a gallon of quality fresh raw milk.)

1 tablespoon of good quality sea salt (needs to be gray, beige or pink in tone)

filtered water

Place beets, whey and salt in a 2 quart glass container. Add filtered water to fill the container. Stir well and cover securely. Keep at room temperature for 2 days before transferring to refrigerator.

When most of the liquid has been drunk, you may fill up the container with water one more time over the beets that are left at the bottom of the jar. The resulting brew will be slightly less strong than the first. After the second brew, discard the beets and start again. You may, however, reserve some of the liquid and use this as your inoculant instead of the whey.

Note: Do not use grated beets in the preparation of beet tonic. When grated, beets exude too much juice resulting in a too rapid fermentation that favors the production of alcohol rather than lactic acid.

Can you change your lawyer during an appeal process?

You can change your lawyer during an appellate proceeding. You may have to get the judge's approval, however. If you are appealing a criminal case and have a public defender, the only realistic way to get a new attorney is to hire one. Many lawyers are good at appeals cases and are retained for just this purpose.

Creatine as a by product of methamphetimine?

While creatine is not a by-product of methamphetamine production, some individuals may mistakenly consider it to be due to the appearance of creatine in certain high-energy beverages mixed with methamphetamine. These beverages are often consumed by individuals looking for a boost in physical performance while using methamphetamine. Creatine itself is a naturally occurring compound found in the body and in certain foods, commonly used as a supplement to improve athletic performance.

What is flame photometry?

flame photometry involves the determination of concentration of alkali and alkaline earth metals present in a sample based on the radiation emitted by it when the sample is atomized to a flame

Why the cell has both NAD and NADP?

NAD and NADP are coenzymes that play essential roles in cellular metabolism. While NAD primarily functions in catabolic reactions releasing energy, NADP participates in anabolic reactions synthesizing molecules. The presence of both allows cells to efficiently regulate metabolic pathways, balancing energy production and consumption.

What part of a plant's leaf cells does photosynthesis take place?

Photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplasts within the leaf cells of a plant. Chloroplasts contain chlorophyll, the pigment responsible for capturing sunlight and converting it into energy through the process of photosynthesis.

Can you root sedum plant from the stem?

Yes, it is the best way to propagate them, and I have grown many this way. They take root very easily, just place in soil, sand or potting mix. Some varieties can also be multiplied by dividing the roots.

What energy-rich compounds do the light reactions produce?

The light reactions of photosynthesis produce energy-rich compounds like ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and NADPH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate). These molecules carry and provide energy for the subsequent dark reactions of photosynthesis.

Why do plants turn toward the sun?

Imagine for a moment:

A plant growing in the center of an empty field, and the sun is rising exactly due east. This means that the eastern side of the plant is facing the sun. During this day, the eastern side of the plant will grow very little while the sun is on the eastern side; however, while the sun is on the eastern side of the plant, the opposite side of our plant will be growing. This causes the plant's western side to grow longer, yet the eastern side closest to the sun remains the same. If you have one side longer than the other, this causes a slouching over effect, just like someone with bad posture.

Short answer:

A plant's side opposite to the sun grows while the side facing the sun grows very little.

What is the use of fernulum in human penis?

The frenulum is a highly sensitive band of tissue located on the underside of the penis. Its main function is to connect the foreskin to the glans and help facilitate movement during sexual activity. Stimulation of the frenulum can contribute to sexual pleasure for some individuals.

What is the importance of photosynthesis to all living things?

Green plants are one of the only living things that produce their own food (algae which are protists and cyanobacteria also photosynthesize). Photosynthesis is when the energy from sunlight is combined with chlorophyll to form sugar. This is how plants feed themselves and how we get energy when we eat plants. Without photosynthesis, all of the energy from the sun would be wasted, and there wouldn't be living things.

Also the importance of photosynthesis to all living things would defntly be the making of oxygen. living things need oxygen, and sense photosynthesis can produce that in plants it makes the process very important to "living" things.

What part of the Echinacea plant is used to treat colds?

The roots of the Echinacea plant are commonly used to treat colds and boost the immune system. The roots contain compounds that are believed to have anti-inflammatory and immune-stimulating properties.
