---
The above answer is what you become when you complete a major. I believe the question is what is it called when you CREATE your OWN major.

I can think of two things that it is called, some schools might have different names for it and I hope people will add that content if they can.

I have heard it called an Individualized Major Plan (IMP), and also a Liberal Arts degree. I got a Behavioral Science AA degree on my way to a BA as a combined degree. There was no Behavioral Science degree listed in the catalog, but my classes were more broad than the psychology degree at my community college.

Hope that helps clarify a little.

A statistical hypothesis test will usually be performed by inductively comparing results of experiments or observations. The number or amount of comparisons will generally dictate the statistical test to use. The researcher is basically making a statement and assuming that it is either correct (the hypothesis - H1) or assuming that it is incorrect (the null hypothesis - H0) and testing that assumption within a predetermined significance level - the alpha.

Why should a school going child learn History and Geography?

They shouldn't! It's not important for their future if their plan is to go nowhere and do nothing; if they never have a reason to find an appropriate place to live and to work; if they never have to make decisions about moving or investing in a home; never need to understand a government, its policies, and never plan to vote; if they never plan to travel or interact with people from other places. Nope, they don't need that stuff. Let other people worry about the future and the right things to do.

What impact has Canadian social and political history had on the writing of Denise Chong and Joy Mannette?

The writings of Denise Chong and Joy Mannette have a great impact of Canadian social and political history.

Denise Chong and Joy Mannette have given their perspectives regarding the position of Chinese and African American immigrants in Canadian society in their books "The Concubine's Children" and "My Dearest Child" respectively. Denise has explained the story of a Chinese man who came to Canada for a better life of his family and Joy has given a description of a woman who married a Black Novascotian man and gave birth to a child.

Denise was born and raised in British Columbia. She worked as an economist for the Department of Finance and as an advisor to PM Trudeau. She wrote about the hardship faced by the Chinese to earn a better life. In her book, she has given her grandparents' story that they had to face discrimination for following Chinese culture. They had to pay extra taxes for education and employment. The Chinese Immigration Act, 1923 put the limitation on Chinese people's migration to Canada. The Chinese immigrants managed to establish a small town in British Columbia called China Town which gave them a place to call as home. Denise's strong political background of the Canadian Government and Canadian history, knowledge of traditions and operations made her aware about the racism against the Chinese immigrants.

Joy Mannette wrote about the discrimination, hatred and ignorance faced by the black people in the past. She wrote in a letter to her son that she is "Nova Scotian first" but the other Canadians do not want to accept this reality. She feared that her son might face the same discrimination and hatred which she and her parents and grandparents have faced in their lives. During 1800's, the Black people didn't have equal rights for education and worship. They didn't get the voting rights or the freedom of speech. They were legally denied from public entertainment.

These stories have brought great impact on social and political history of Canada. These stories also created the awareness and forced the Canadian government to change into a multicultural society where everyone is treated fairly and equally. This resulted in creation of Canadian Multiculturalism Act, 1988 which protects and ensures to give equal rights to all.

What is the difference between kniting and woven?

Woven fabric is usually done on a loom by weaving threads of fabric together to make a full piece. The problem is the edges are usually free unless you sew along them to secure them in place. Also because of the way it's made it's only stretchy on the bias meaning in a diagonal direction.

Knit fabric however is done by knitting threads together so instead of the threads being perpendicular like in the woven fabric they're actually integrated into each other by forming loops. This allows knitted fabric to be stretched in any direction since it's much looser than woven fabric.
