The only other belt should be around the timing... and that should be covered by plastic.....

50 MILIAMPS or less is considered o/k for a draw on a system. If you have pulled all the fuses and the battery is still draining down have you considered that the battery might not be holding the charge? What happens if you don'y drive the car for a few day but the battery is unhooked? Alternators have been known to cause intermittant drains on their own. Also radios have been known to cause intermittant drains. Give me some more info, year, mileage, aftermarket options, engine size, symptoms & I'll look for you feedback. Do you have a digital multimeter?

Will it even crank? If it won't, you have an ignition switch or lock cylinder going bad. If it does crank, just not running, then check to make sure fuel pressure is good and that the ignition coil is good. When exactly will it not start?

It is underneath the engine on the passenger side, you have to remove the plastic guard to see it.

There is a short to ground. remove neg cable from battery and put voltmeter in line. You will see a voltage there. Begin pulling fuses until the voltage goes away. you will find the short in that system. Good luck.

i have a 1993 Toyota Camry and I'm having a problem with the alternator

whenever i start the engine the voltage is at 13.5 volts a few minutes later voltage drops

between 11.5 to 12.7 volts,i had the same problem 6 months ago with the same car and when i was going to replace the alternator the belt turned out to be have cracks on it,so instead of replacing the alternator i replaced the belt and that fixed the problem,but i don't think is the belt this time any good answer that could help?

The switch will depend on the alternators and car wiring. The switch could require removing an external regulator as well. You will need a wiring diagram of the vehicle wiring to decide which wires to change.

In short, no. There are ways to make the voltage rise, but inverting the power will not help you. If you don't care about the amount of Amps you have, the simplest way to raise the voltage would be to add resistance to the line. Volts and amps are linked by Ohm's law, which states that V=IR, where V is volts, I is current (in amps), and R is resistance in ohms. Therefore you can create a higher voltage at the cost of amperage by adding resistance to your line.

Check the battery cables carefully. If you see a bulge in the cable, replace it. Check the ground cable to make sure it is tight where it is connected to the chassis. I would suspect the battery is bad even though it may appear good, especially if it is over 2 years old.

About the only thing to cause an alternator short

is an internal fault.

One other posibillity is if the wiring connection is the bolt on type

as opposed to the block push on type

alternators are 2-300 depending where you live......getting yours rebuilt is cheapeest option Usually under 200. As for the labour, It shouldn't be more than 1.5 hrs if the guy knows what he's doing. The horror stories are from guys that don't know how to change them.......(through the passenger wheel well). It's really not hard

have the battery tested, average life of a battery is 2 to 3 years. if battery is good check voltage regulator and starter motor. there is a short somewhere if the battery is good

you loosen the clamp screw, then the one that tightens the belt, then remove the wires, then the bolt through the alternator, and then reverse the steps to put the new one in. It really isn't all that difficult. its also a good time to change the belt since you're doing all the work for that job anyway.
