What does it mean when a four wheeler smokes?

It simply means that the ATV has reached a curious age. If your ATV is smoking, just tell it that smoking is harmful but you trust him to make his own decisions. Eventually, he will make the right choice and quit. Curiousity is a natural step in ATV development. Are other ATVs in the area smoking as well?

Is it bad to take the baffle out of a 400EX quad?

it will make it run a tiny bit more lean, but theres a chance you diddent get the baffle out from the front of the slip on, its way in there, so it shouldent be to bad. kind of pointless to take the baffle out though, you wont gain anything.

i disagree. u might not gain anything you really want like HP or torque but you will gain the anger of your neighbors haha. then whenever they are really mad at you, you do something funny like p!ss on their welcome mat or sh!t in their mailbox.

Why was the four wheeler invented?

The all-terrain vehicle (ATV), also known as three and four-wheelers, was initially developed in Japan as a farm-to-town vehicle in isolated, mountainous areas. During spring thaws and rainy seasons steep mountainous roads were often impassable with conventional vehicles. The three-wheeled ATV proved to be a much better mode of travel and soon became a recreational vehicle, providing transportation to areas inaccessible by other motorized transport. And, it wasn't long before the Japanese manufacturers realized that the ATV could be sold to Americans.

When driving at ATV do you lean the direction you want to turn?

Yes and the higher the speed the more you should lean. The reasons for this are:

when turning centrificul force will be acting to throw you off the bike, leaning lessens the chances of this happening

ATV's have a high center of gravity (especially with you on them) thus they can be somewhat tippy, leaning into the turn helps reduce this tendancy

Where is the VIN located on a Yamaha Grizzly 600 ATV?

According to the parts man at Yamaha who I talked with today, the number is on the frame on the left side by the footpegs. This was for a Warrior 350, but may work for your model too.

For my Yamaha Moto-4 350 - the VIN is located on the frame, adjacent to the (rear side) of the left front tire.
